ANALYSIS: The Kings and Coyotes have split four meetings this season with each team winning both games on the road. Arizona has won two straight against L.A. despite getting outshot 80-56 combined. The Coyotes scored three power-play goals in their last game and will now be playing their third game in three nights and fourth game in five days. Tough. The Kings are ranked No. 10 in face-off win percentage while Arizona is ranked No. 24. Finally, Arizona is ranked dead last in shot differential (-192). I love L.A.

ANALYSIS: Sometimes it's risky betting a next-day game this early, but I was watching Tuesday's Grizzlies-Heat matchup, and Memphis star Ja Morant had to leave for the locker room late with an apparent hip injury. He could be fine, but if he's not and misses this game -- which sure looked like he would at the time -- then the spread will rise a fair amount and unfortunately we won't get a Morant vs. Trae Young matchup. However, Atlanta would be great value at just -2 ... assuming the Hawks don't hold anyone out in the second of a B2B (therein the risk).

ANALYSIS: I haven't been right on this series yet, but we'll try again Wednesday. The Tigers are good value at -115 on the runline because Matthew Boyd is on the mound. Yes, Boyd can be wild at times, but he can miss bats as well as any pitcher. The lefty blanked the Indians over 5.2 innings in the opener and allowed three earned runs over 12 innings with no walks and 14 strikeouts last year vs. Minnesota. The Twins' Kenta Maeda (0-0, 2.08) was just OK vs. Detroit in 2020, allowing nine runs and four homers over 18 innings.

ANALYSIS: The NHL's best rivalry is renewed Wednesday from Toronto, and my model recommends taking the Canadiens at -180 on the puckline as the Habs cover that +1.5 goals number in 75 percent of simulations. This has one-goal game written all over it.
