VEGAS @ COLORADO | 06/02 | 10:00 PM EDT
COLORADO -175
ANALYSIS: How fantastic did the Avalanche look in Game 1's 7-1 victory? Golden Knights coach Peter DeBoer made the curious call to start Robin Lehner in net over Marc-Andre Fleury and that hugely backfired. DeBoer clearly wanted Fleury resting regardless because he made Lehner stay out there and allow all seven goals. No question it will be Fleury on Wednesday, and I expect a much more competitive matchup. Vegas will be without forward Ryan Reaves, who was suspended two games for a roughing/unsportsmanlike conduct incident in Game 1. Winger Mattias Janmark is iffy after leaving with an injury. He would be a much bigger loss than Reaves.

WASHINGTON @ PHILADELPHIA | 06/02 | 7:00 PM EDT
WASHINGTON +7
ANALYSIS: I'm just going to take a shot on the Wizards getting the 7 points now because I highly doubt that Sixers star Joel Embiid will play with his knee injury suffered in Game 4; the line should drop a few points when officially ruled out. It doesn't sound like it's ultra-serious, and I could still see Philly winning this game at home to close things out, but the Sixers are +70 in the series when Embiid is on the floor and -17 when he's not playing.

MONTREAL @ WINNIPEG | 06/02 | 7:30 PM EDT
WINNIPEG -123
ANALYSIS: This is the typical rust vs. rest argument for the Jets, who haven't played since finishing a shocking sweep of Edmonton back on May 24. For the most part, teams in Winnipeg's rest position have done extremely well in this postseason against teams in Montreal's position -- i.e. coming off a grueling series and with just one day of rest. I thus like Winnipeg in Wednesday's opener and in the series. The Jets were 6-3 vs. the Habs this year.

VEGAS @ COLORADO | 06/02 | 10:00 PM EDT
VEGAS +1.5
ANALYSIS: Colorado obliterated Vegas 7-1 in Game 1, but the Knights were on short rest off a long Round 1 series. They got two days off ahead of Game 2 and will go back to Marc-Andre Fleury in net after he surprisingly didn't start the opener. My model simulates the Knights "cover" at +1.5 goals on the puckline in 65 percent of simulations for Wednesday's matchup in Denver.

DALLAS @ L.A. CLIPPERS | 06/02 | 10:00 PM EDT
OVER 217
ANALYSIS: Game 5 as this Western Conference series shifts to L.A. with the home team yet to win in the series. My model gives the Mavericks a 55 percent chance of covering as 7-point underdogs, but the better wager is on the total with 65 percent of simulations landing Over 217 points. The Over is 7-1 in Dallas' past eight road games.

SAN DIEGO @ CHI. CUBS | 06/02 | 2:20 PM EDT
SAN DIEGO +1.5
ANALYSIS: No Kris Bryant or Willson Contreras in the lineup for the Cubs, while the Padres won't have Fernando Tatis Jr. The Under 7.5 runs might be a smart bet. But, I'll take the Friars on the runline behind Dinelson Lamet (1-0, 2.57), although he probably won't go more than five innings. Chicago's Adbert Alzolay (3-4, 3.81) has been a bit worse at home and is prone to the home run. The Cubs look to sweep San Diego in a three-game set at Wrigley Field for the first time since May 28-30, 2012. Maybe they do, but not by more than a run. Take the Padres on the RL.

TEXAS @ COLORADO | 06/02 | 8:40 PM EDT
COLORADO +1.5
ANALYSIS: Gee, thank you oddsmakers for making the Rangers road favorites again even though they are on a 13-game away skid and absolutely awful vs. right-handed pitching. We won on Colorado on the runline in this matchup Tuesday -- the Rox are 17-12 at home and have won four straight there -- and will go right back to it behind Antonio Senzatela (1-5, 4.97). He's historically quite a bit better at home. The Rangers' Jordan Lyles (2-4, 5.79) is certainly nothing special. Texas also has lost eight in a row in NL parks and won't have the DH again.

N.Y. METS @ ARIZONA | 06/02 | 3:40 PM EDT
N.Y. METS +1.5
ANALYSIS: Madison Bumgarner is the bigger-name pitcher in this matchup (4-5, 5.15), but the lefty has not been the same since his seven-inning "no-hitter" and has allowed 14 runs (11 earned) over 10 innings in his past two. Francisco Lindor is starting to come around for New York as he's on a four-game hitting streak (.333) with four runs, a double, a triple, a home run and three RBIs. It's lefty David Peterson (1-4, 4.91) for New York. The Snakes have won just eight of their past 29 vs. southpaws. Each of Peterson's last six starts have come in games decided by one run, so Mets on the runline it is.
