GINA

NBA

San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers

Look for Kobe and his crew to grab another victory tonight at home, but Duncan and his boys will make it tough, especially after being traumatize by the Lakers, wiping out a 20 point Spurs lead in the second half of Game 1. Expect a very close Game 2 battle at the Staple Center. The Lakers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings versus the Spurs.

San Antonio Spurs +6½

MLB

Texas Rangers at Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians are 6-1 in their last seven games at home and have won eight of the last 11 meetings against the Texas Rangers.

Cleveland will send Fausto Carmona to the hill. The right-hander is 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA, 3-1 with a 1.65 at Progressive Field and is 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA in nine career games against the Rangers. Texas counters with Kason Gabbard. The left-hander is 1-1 with a 3.12 and is 0-1 with a 6.97 ERA in two career starts against the Indians.

AL FREE B's FOR FRI

RAYS -130 on ML over Orioles--Garza over Guthrie here as the Rays open a 10 game homestand. Tampa is 16-8 at home this year and having a tremendous season. They've won 12 of last 13 home games at the Trop. TAKE THE OVER 8.5 RUNS here. Their starting pitching has been the difference at home, as they sport a nice 2,78 ERA there. During their 12-1 stretch at home, they've got an even lower ERA of 1.95. Matt Garza is 4-0 in five career starts vs the Orioles.

CHICAGO -115 on ML over Angels--Gavin Floyd pulls off the upset of 7-1 Joe Saunders and the Angels tonight on the South Side of Chicago. Floyd is making his first career start vs the Angels, but he's 4-2 overall and has not yielded A RUN in 4 of 8 starts this season. He's come close to TWO NO HITTERS, but didn't get them. The White Sox are on fire and have won 8 straight. TAKE THE UNDER 8.5 RUNS--Angels haven't been hitting or scoring lately and both pitchers are kick ass. Low scoring affair at (we still call it Comisky Park)

Oakland -120 on ML over Boston--Harden beats Wakefield in the East Bay. Boston has rattled off 7 straight wins. Lowell and Drew hit GRAND SLAMS Thursday as they finished off the sweep of KC. Oakland beat Tampa on Wednesday but have just three wins in last 12 games. Boston had to travel out West and they'll get burned tonight.

NL FREE B'S FOR FRI

Nationals +105 on ML over Brewers--I'll take the upset special with Odalis Perez over Suppan in DC. Milwaukee just took 2 of 3 from Pittsburgh and continue their road trip. Perez is 3-0 lifetime vs the Nationals. The Nats have won 7 of last 10 home games vs. Milwaukee adn won 2 of 3 from them last year at home. TAKE THE OVER 9.5 RUNS

Astros -120 on ML over Phils--Philly won the first game of the series Thursday 7-5 adn have won three straight games. Howard is hot and has been hitting HR's again. The STROS are 14-6 this month. Brandon backe is coming off a win on last Sunday against Texas. Adam eaton hasn't won a game in 10 starts so far for Philly. TAKE THE OVER 10.5 RUNS

DODGERS -125 on ML over Cardinals--Wainwright has been struggling miserably lately for the Cards. LA just swept the Reds at Dodgher Stadium and they get Furcal back in the lineup after a stint on the DL. Wainwright has allowed 12 runs in his last two starts adn 20 hits overall in 11 innings of work. He lost to the Dodgers twice last year. Lowe has been horrid lately as well for LA. He's 0-3 in his last 5 starts. He's 1-4 lifetime vs the Cards, who won 4 of 5 and just got done beating up the Padres. LA is 19-11 when favored. They are 14-9 at Chavez Revine, which is over 60%. St.Louis is 11-11 on the road.

Info Plays

3* on New York Mets -104

The Mets make our free pick selection today behind a prove Money Line System that goes against the Rockies off a pair of heartbreaking losses. Play Against - Home teams (COLORADO) - terrible power team - averaging 0.75 or less HR's/game on the season, after 2 straight one run losses. This is a 48-19 ML System hitting 71.6% since 1997 that goes against Colorado. Odalis Perez 11-1 on the road with a money line of -100 to -125 since 1997. Perez is 15-2 on the road with a money line of -100 to -150 since 1997. Perez has been a solid bet his whole career as a small road favorite. Bet the Mets on the road.

Arizona D-backs Atlanta Braves
Pick: ATLANTA -136 over Florida

The Diamondbacks are 1-7 in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, while the Braves are 9-2 in their last 11 games as a favorite of -110 to -150 and 6-1 in Reyes' last 7 starts. Atlanta has been good at home this year going 20-5, while hitting .315 and scoring 6 rpg. The Brave have had some problems with lefties this year but they are facing Doug Davis, who is making his first start in a while and should be a bit rusty. You don't want to be rusty when facing this offense. Jo Jo Reyes has been solid at home this year going 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA. The Arizona offense has been slumping of late as they are hitting just .218 and scoring only 3 rpg in their last 7 games, plus they are coming off a series in Florida where they only scored 3 runs tpotal in 3 games. For the year Arizoina is scoring just 3.6 rpg and hitting .215 on the road. Arizona is 20-5 vs the West this year, but 5-14 vs the rest of the league, and at last check Atlanta wasn't in the West. The Braves continue to roll at home.

TIP OF THE DAY

Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Prediction: Chicago Cubs

Current Line: -185 Over/Under: 8.5 Reason: The Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates will both be gunning for a victory on Friday when they meet at PNC Park. The Cubs will give the ball to ace starter Carlos Zambrano in this one. Righthander Zambrano is 6-1 this season with a 2.45 ERA. It'll be Zach Duke toeing the rubber for the Pirates in this contest. Lefthander Duke is 2-2 with a 4.23 ERA so far this season. Oddsmakers currently have the Cubs listed as 185-moneyline favorites versus the Pirates, while the game's total is sitting at 8½. The Cubs were defeated 5-3 by the Astros in the rubber match on Wednesday, as a -105 pick'em. The eight runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (10). Derrek Lee cracked a two-run homer for the Cubs, while Sean Gallagher surrendered all five runs over 4 2-3 innings of work. ARIZONA (D. Davis) +120 over ATLANTA (J. Reyes)

The Braves are coming off a dramatic four game sweep over the Mets, their division arch-rival, so look for a letdown in tonight's opener vs. Arizona. The Diamondbacks welcome Doug Davis back to the rotation, following a stint on the DL (3.73 ERA in three April starts) and he should fare well vs. an Atlanta team that has struggled vs. lefties (-$550 with only 3.7 runs per game). Despite some setbacks this past week, Arizona still has winnings marks vs.southpaws (+$260), so grab the underdog price on the visitor in this lefty vs. lefty showdown.

**PREFERRED
Kansas City at Toronto UNDER 7.5

Time to get some money back from Roy Halladay's most recent start, when he went against that bum Bonser, in the Metrodome, who allowed a grand slam in the first inning and caused Halladay to immediately relax too much. The Toronto ace is back home against an ordinary hitting opponent's best pitcher. Zack it to ya! In his last three starts, KC's Greinke has been matched against Badenhop (emphasize ''Bad''), Nate the Far From Great Robertson, and Jerk-ed Weaver. Moving up in class to Halladay makes it far tougher for his teammates to support him in the manner to which he has gotten accustomed against those other clowns.

* CLOSE CALL
San Antonio at LA Lakers OVER 193

If Kobe Bryant unties his hands for both halves instead of just one, then the Lakers get to the free throw line more frequently, lengthen the game, score consistently, get lazy on defense like they enjoy doing at times, and the game goes over.

LA LAKERS, 105-95.

1 Unit on Detroit Tigers -150

The Detroit Tigers are a solid favorite today after capping off a 3-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners. The Tigers finally got their bats going, scoring 30 runs in just 3 games against Seattle. This entire team is hitting with confidence right now and it will carry over against Kevin Slowey and the lowly Minnesota Twins tonight. Rookie righthander Armando Galarraga (3-1, 3.06 ERA) hopes to benefit from similar run support when he takes the hill for Detroit. Righthander Kevin Slowey (0-4, 5.49 ERA) is on a personal 4-game losing streak and it’s not about to end Friday. Detroit is 33-19 against the money line in home games revenging a 3 game sweep at the hands of their opponents since 1997. After getting swept by the Twins earlier this season, it’s time for a little payback in Detroit starting with Game 1 tonight. The home team has won all 5 games in this season series to this point. Cash in with the Tigers as the favorite.
