Game: New York Yankees @ Houston Astros
Pick: 3 unit(s) TOTAL: Under 9.5

The Yankees are a huge Under team having gone 25-40 to the under so far this season. Shawn Chacon is coming off a just terrible start so I look for him to bounce back a little bit today and throw a better game. Joba Chamberlain has got his feet wet in the starters role now and I look for him to throw a good game. In his third start today he should be able to get a little deeper into the game today. Houston has played just 9 overs all year the day after losing a game. They almost always go under the day after a loss.

INTERLEAGUE GAME OF THE YEAR

3000 DIME INTERLEAGUE GAME OF THE YEAR

Blue Jays w/Burnett over Cubs

also

1000 Dime - Orioles w/Burres over Pittsburgh

1000 Dime - White Sox w/Floyd over Rockies

A.J. Burnett takes the ball for the Blue Jays looking to bounce back from allowing eight runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings of a 9-5 loss to Baltimore on Saturday. He'll take on the Cubs, a team he went 2-0 in three career starts against all as a member of the Marlins. The Blue Jays are 5-1 in their last six interleague games vs. a team with a winning record and are 9-2 in their last 11 interleague home games vs. a right-handed starter. Sean Gallagher has been hit or miss for the Cubs this year, and their win streak ends tonight. Jays win.

The Orioles are 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite of -110 to -150 and are 9-3 in their last 12 games as a home favorite. They'll take on the Pirates tonight who come off a series win over the Nationals at home. The Pirates have the worst record in interleague play at 57-94. They went 5-10 against AL teams last season, including 1-8 on the road. Phil Dumatrait will go, and has pitched well for the Bucs. Still, winning this series opener is too tall a task for the Pirates in Baltimore tonight.

Gavin Floyd is 7-3 with a 3.10 ERA on the year, and looks to win a career-high fourth consecutive start. He has a 3.60 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 20 innings over his last three outings, and will take on the Rockies tonight. He struck out a career-high nine while allowing just two runs and six hits in seven innings of a 12-2 win over Minnesota on Sunday. Rockies hurler Jeff Francis, meanwhile, has had an awful start to 2008. Also, he lost his only start against the White Sox, allowing five runs and 12 hits in six innings of a 15-5 defeat back in 2005. Colorado is one of the worst road teams in baseball with a 10-24 record and a 5.05 ERA. They lose again tonight.

3000 Dime Interleague Dog of the Year

ONE AND ONLY 3000 DIME
INTERLEAGUE DOG OF THE YEAR

LA Dodgers +120 over Tigers

also

1000 Dime - LA Angels over Braves

1000 Dime - Under the posted total (Royals/D-Backs)

Derek Lowe is 7-1 with a 1.82 ERA in nine starts and 19 relief appearances against the Tigers, all of them with the Red Sox. His team, the Sox, went 23-2 in his appearances against the Tigers. As for this year, he has rebounded from a rocky start to the year, 2-1 with a 1.86 ERA in his last four starts overall. He gave up three runs and six hits in seven innings to earn a win as Los Angeles beat the Chicago Cubs 7-3 on Saturday. Armando Galarraga has been up and down for the Tigers, back in the rotation due to the demotion of Willis and the injury to Bonderman. He gets beat today.

Jon Garland is 6-3 with a 3.87 ERA for his new team and will take on the Braves for the first time in his career tonight. He has won his last three decisions and the Angels have won the last four times he's taken the mound. He lasted seven innings last Saturday against Oakland, allowing two runs and five hits in the 5-3 win. Jo-Jo Reyes, who is 2-4 with a 4.80 ERA on the year, will go for Atlanta, and has struggled mightily of late. He has lost his last three decisions and allowed four runs and seven hits in the 6-2 loss to Philly last weekend. He will lose again tonight, this time on the west coast.

The under is 6-0-1 in the Diamondbacks last seven games as a favorite as they take on the Royals at home tonight. They took two of three from the Mets at Shea over the past few days, storming back from 5-1 and 4-0 down in the two wins. The under is 7-1 in the Diamondbacks last eight against the AL Central, and is 13-3-2 in their last 18 games following a win. As for the Royals, the under is 37-14-1 in their last 52 games as an underdog of +110 to +150 and is 21-8-1 in their last 30 games following a win. The under is 10-2-1 in Zack Greinke's last 13 starts as an underdog and is 4-1 in his last five starts as a road underdog of +110 to +150. This one stays under tonight.

Take Chicago Cubs and Toronto Blue Jays OVER 8.

A.J. Burnett has struggled under the dome at the Rogers Centre this season, and Sean Gallagher has been horrible on the road. Play the Blue Jays and Cubs over the total.
Sean Gallagher and the Cubs travel north of the border to battle the Blue Jays in the opener of a three-game series. Veteran A.J. Burnett gets the call for Toronto.

The Jays have dropped their last three games when Burnett has toed the rubber. Burnett got blasted in his last outing allowing eight earned runs on 10 hits and was gone by the fifth inning. Of extreme interest to those of us who are playing the Over tonight is what Burnett has done under the dome this season. It’s not pretty. Burnett is 2-3 with a whopping 9.00 ERA in six appearances (five starts) at home this year.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Gallagher has had recent trouble on the road going 0-2 with two no-decisions and a 5.93 ERA in four road starts this year, and tonight marks his first career start against Toronto.

Finally, the Over is 7-2 in the Blue Jays' last nine interleague games.

Pick: Cubs-Blue Jays Over 8
