TONY WESTON

Taking the Orioles at home.

Though the Tigers did come through and get the win, they barely did so holding off a late Orioles rally to win 6-5. And Detroit did that by beating up on hapless Baltimore pitcher Garrett Olson, who gave up five earned runs in six innings of work to drop to 6-5 for the season and saw his ERA jump to 5.79.

But the difference tonight will be the pitching of Baltimore ace Jeremy Guthrie, who is only 5-7 this season, but has a strong 3.49 ERA. Also, Baltimore is 5-3 his last eight starts and the team is 5-3 in his eight starts at home, where he has a 3.51 ERA.

Guthrie will shut down the Tigers and lead Baltimore to a victory.

Pencil in Guthrie as your starting pitcher and take the Orioles at home.

Mr. A

Pittsburgh Pirates at Colorado Rockies

The struggling Rockies have lost four their last five games, but have won six of its last 7 at home. They will square off against the Pirates again tonight at Coors Field. Pittsburgh lost the opener, 5-3 for their fifth straight defeat on the road.

Pittsburgh will send Ian Snell to the hill. The right-hander is 0-0 with a 6.39 ERA in his last three starts and is 0-4 with a whopping, 11.35 ERA in his last five road starts. Snell is 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA in two career starts versus Colorado. Colorado counters with Glendon Rusch. The lefty is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA in his last three starts and is 2-7 with a 4.96 ERA in 15 career starts versus Pittsburgh.

Both the Pirates and Rockies are playing below par and so has both starters, Snell and Rusch. Still, The Pirates current performance away from home have been horrendous. Pittsburgh has lost eight of their 10 games away from home and Ian Snell is 1-6 in his last 7 road starts. Take the Rockies at home

Colorado Rockies -120

John Ryan

Game: Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants
Prediction: Milwaukee Brewers

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on the Milwaukee Brewers – CC Sabathia is already 2-0 for Milwaukee and based on the AiS projections he will still be undefeated after the completion of this game. Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 48-12 making 31.2 units since 1997 for a remarkable 80%. Play on road favorites with a money line of -125 or more after 7 or more consecutive home games and with the game occurring in the month of July. Giants starter Cain in several poor roles for this game. Note that he is just 7-24 (-18.5 Units) against the money line when playing against a team with a winning record over the last 2 seasons; 3-11 (-9.4 Units) against the money line when playing against a good team sporting a win percentage of 54% to 62% over the last 2 seasons. Take Milwaukee

Lenny Del Genio

Game: New York Mets at Cincinnati Reds
Prediction: New York Mets

If the All-Star Break wasn’t enough to cool off the Mets yesterday, then there is no reason not to take them again here tonight. They come in as winners of ten straight and it looks as if the “karma is on their side” following a four-run ninth on Thursday en route to a 10-8 victory over the Reds. Starter John Maine is an excellent road pitcher. The Mets have won 17 of his previous 23 non-daytime starts away from home, including 8 straight on Fridays (for whatever that’s worth!). The Mets hitters also like to produce when Maine toes the rubber, having given him seven or more runs of support in five of his last six starts overall. Reds starter Bronson Arroyo has recently turned it around, but the fact remains his Team Start Record off a loss is just 7-15. Take NY Mets.

Bryan Leonard American League Game of the Year!

We've now cashed 5 of our last 6 guaranteed selections after a win last night on the Tigers. A dime player is now up $38,440 on the season with our baseball selections. Tonight we add to that profit with our Strongest Play of the Season in American League action! You don't want to miss this one.

Texas Rangers vs. Minnesota Twins (MLB) - 8:10 PM EDT Premium Play
Play: Minnesota Twins

The Twins continue to be under priced as the general public has yet to recognize that this is a very good baseball team. Sure the off-season losses of Santana and Hunter hurt, but Minnesota has never been a team who won with superstar play. Minnesota is on a 21-7 run since mid-June and the pitching staff could very well be considered the best in the league one through five. Kevin Millwood takes the mound for the Rangers and he has yet to defeat the Twins. He is 0-5 with a 5.85 career ERA vs Minnesota. The veteran right-hander has not had a good season and he has been especially weak as of late. In his last four starts he has allowed 16 earned runs in just 20.1 innings of work. What makes those numbers even worse is the fact that he allowed just a single home run in those four starts. Millwood has lasted past six innings just once in his last 15 starts which means the league's worst bullpen will be getting an early call. The Twins are averaging 6.02 runs per game in the Metrodome vs right-handed starters. They should have little problem reaching those numbers against this very weak Texas pitching staff. Glenn Perkins has been a pleasant surprise for the host. The young lefty has produced quality starts in five of his last six appearances with the Twins posting a 5-1 record in those starts. He works fast and throws strikes which is all that's needed with this solid defense around him. Texas is known for their offensive prowess but they struggle on the road vs lefties. The Rangers average just 3.86 runs per game in that situation hitting just .233 in the process. Josh Hamilton stole the show in the home run derby but who walked away with the trophy? The less flashy Twins steal the spotlight away once more as they continue their quest to catch the White Sox. PLAY MINNESOTA
