1 Unit on Twins/Indians UNDER 8.5 Runs

With two strong starters on the hill tonight, the bats will be virtually silenced in this game. The Under is 6-1 in the Twins last 7 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. The Under is 4-0-1 in Lee's last 5 starts overall and 4-0 in Lee's last 4 starts vs. a team with a winning record. The Under is also 7-3 in the Indians last 10 home games and 9-1-1 in Indians last 11 when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game. We'll take a crack at the UNDER here.

Sports Gambling Hotline

Tonight we take the smoking Pirates to dumpe the Padres once again.

It really doesn't seem to matter who is pitching for Pittsburgh these days, as when you are scoring 7, 8, 9 runs a game, you could trot out just about anyone and make them look good.

Pittsburgh starter Zack Duke has 4 wins for the year, and all 4 have come at PNC Park. Look for him to notch another "W" tonight, as San Diego has lost their last 3, and 9 of their last 10 games overall.

The Friars are also a weak 15-35 on the road this year, and starter Baek is just 1-5 for the season.

We have to lay it with the red-hot Pirates as they extend their current winning streak to 5 in a row.
Play on Pittsburgh.

Underdog winner goes tonight on Colorado.

I know the Rockies have been terrible on the road, but they are within striking distance in the NL West, winning their last pair, and 6 of their last 7.

Colorado hurler Aaron Cook is now 12-6 for the season, and is coming into this one off a home win over Pittsburgh.

Cincinnati will counter with All-Star Edinson Volquez who looks like he may be running a little low on gas these days. Volquez was less than stellar in the Midsummer Classic, and his first start back from the break was a 5 inning, 4 run no-decision at home against the Mets.

Going to go with the Rockies here to spring the upset, as Colorado did go 4-2 versus the Reds in last year's season series, and I like them to get the weekend started off with the upset win tonight.

3♦ COLORADO

Matt Rivers

For Friday take a shot with the Nats in the City of Angels.

Why not? Yes Chad Billingsley has a bright future and is very good right now but John Lannan has quietly been very tough himself. The Washington lefty just looked good once again in a win in Atlanta and despite the mediocre record has a great ERA in the 3's, which most people would not even realize.

Manny Acta's boys have a terrible record and overall are not a good big league baseball team and I will not sugarcoat and say they are. But the Dodgers are far from an offensive juggernaut and we can easily see a low scoring competitive game here where one bounce of the ball or one misplay will decide it leaving me just fine with a quality takeback like this.

Ryan Zimmerman is back and that helps Washington's offense immensely. The Z-Pack is the Nats best player and a legitimate All-Star calibre player when healthy.

This is far from the lock of my life or even a steal as the Nats did just trade away closer Jon Rauch and their original closer in Chad Cordero is done for the year meaning there are problems galore with the relief corps but the price is enough for me to expect Lannan will keep the visitors in the game and I'll take my chances from there.

Wunderdog

Los Angeles at Baltimore
Pick: Los Angeles -133

The Angels own the best record in baseball and are red hot. The Angels are winners of seven of their last eight. They also own the best road record by far at 31-18, and have been destroying LHP to the tune of a 19-6 record. The Orioles hung in their for a while, but are now on a 4-12 run and have been playing rather poorly even at home where they are now just 3-7 over their last 10 home games. Joe Saunders is on his way to a potential 20-win season, and the Angels are 14-5 in his first 19 starts as Saunders has not allowed more than three runs over his last six starts. After a good start and ERA of 3.18 into late May, Brian Burres has pitched to a 7.28 ERA over his last 10 starts and has been highly ineffective. We like the Angels to take the opener here.

PRICELESS PICKS

1 Unit on Toronto Blue Jays -158

The Mariners are just 7-20 in the last 27 meetings in Toronto . This doesn't surprise me at all since many teams struggle when playing on the opposite side of the country. The Mariners are 0-5 in their last 5 overall and just 10-23 in their last 33 vs. the American League East. The Blue Jays are 7-1 in their last 8 home games and 5-0 in their last 5 games as a favorite. Bet the Blue Jays.

Rocky Atkinson

Colorado @ Cincinnati
Play On: 3* Cincinnati -140

Colorado is 4-15 this year when the total is 8 to 8 1/2. Colorado is 13-35 on the road this year. Cincinnati is 42-25 last 3 years when playing in Friday. Colorado is scoring only 3.5 runs per game on the road this year and 4.1 runs per game against right handed starters this season. Cincinnati bullpen has a 3.53 ERA overall this year and a 3.08 ERA at home this season. Volquez is 12-3 with a 2.49 ERA in all games this year, 12-2 with a 2.53 ERA in all starts this year, 6-0 with a 2.82 ERA at home and 2-0 his last 3 starts. Cook has a 7.79 ERA overall vs Cincinnati since 1997. We'll play Cincinnati for 3 units tonight!

Tony Karpinski

LAA Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles
Play: LAA Angels

Joe Saunders has enjoyed plenty of success against the team he grew up watching. The Los Angeles All-Star looks to remain perfect against the Baltimore Orioles when the first-place Angels open a 10-game road trip Friday night at Camden Yards. Saunders (12-5, 3.05 ERA), who grew up in Springfield, Va., about 60 miles from Baltimore, is 3-0 with a 5.63 ERA against the Orioles. Baltimore dropped two of three at Los Angeles from May 2-4 and look for the hottest team in baseball to get another win on Friday night. Play on the ANGELS
