VEGAS EXPERTS

Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots

New England has looked very bad without Tom Brady thus far getting outscored 43-25 in BB SU/ATS losses to Baltimore and Tampa Bay. Matt Cassel, Matt Gutierrez and and rookie Kevin O' Connell have all taken turns looking awful and there are major issues with this team on the offensive line as they only have 11 lineman total. The fact that we can get points with Philadelphia is too attractive a proposition to pass up.

Play on: Philadelphia

Craig Trapp

Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos
Play: Green Bay Packer +127

Love taking NFLX underdogs. Craig is 3-1 with preseason underdogs. Take GB over DEN today. GB is the better team here and have much better skilled position players. Expect both 1st team to play into the 3rd quarter. Rogers for GB needs to bounce back after a disappointing last game. Preseason record is not important but no one wants to go 0-4. Expect GB to play to win this win. SCORE GB 27 - DEN 17!

JEFF ALEXANDER SPORTS

1 Unit on LA Angels -1.5 +120

I like the Angels to bounce back big after a 1-run extra innings loss to start this series. The Twins are just 2-7 in the last 9 meetings and 3-9 in the last 12 meetings in Los Angeles. The Angels are 17-4 in Saunders' last 21 starts following a team loss in their previous game, 23-8 in Saunders' last 31 home starts, and 7-1 in Saunders' last 8 home starts vs. a team with a winning record. The Angels are a dominant 82-39 in their last 121 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game and facing a lefty plays right into their hand here as LA is 23-9 in its 32 games vs. a left-handed starter. Take the Halos on the run line as they get big time revenge tonight.'

Priceless Picks

1 Unit on Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 -124

PITTSBURGH is 2-18 against the money line in road games vs. teams whose hitters strike out 7 or more times/game in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons, losing these games by 3.5 runs per game on average. DUKE is 1-10 against the money line when playing on Friday over the last 2 seasons, losing these games by 2.7 runs per game on average. MILWAUKEE is 16-2 against the money line in home games with a hot bullpen whose ERA is under 3.00 the last 15 games over the last 2 seasons, winning these contests by 4 runs per game on average. We'll take the Brew Crew on the run line.

LEE KOSTROSKI

Minnesota Twins @ Los Angeles Angels
PICK: Minnesota Twins

The Twins are 9-0 in the last nine games against left-handed starters and 12-1 in the last 13 games against southpaws with the lone loss being a one-run game to likely Cy Young winner Cliff Lee (who Minnesota handed one of his two losses this season). Over the last ten games the Twins are hitting .360 as a team against left-handed pitchers. The Twins are 17-7 overall in the last 24 games and unlike the first place Angels the pressure is still on Minnesota to keep winning and stay in the playoff hunt.

Joe Saunders has an impressive record for the Angels but his numbers are fairly average in recent weeks. Saunders has allowed three or more runs in six of his last nine starts and his home ERA is nearly a full point higher than in his numbers on the road. Saunders is averaging just over three strikeouts per game so he has been far from dominant and facing one of the top hitting teams in baseball could be problematic.

While the Twins have hit left-handers well, Los Angeles has struggled. The Angels are just 3-3 in the last six games against southpaws while hitting only .251 in the past ten games. The Angels enter this series having lost five of the last seven games overall and Minnesota will look to redeem a rocky opening series against the Angels in April. The Twins are 6-2 in the last eight starts from Glen Perkins and the Twins have been the better team in the past 56 games with a 38-18 record.

CHRIS CHIRIMBES

MILWAUKEE BREWERS

Pittsburgh will hand the ball to Zach Duke (4-11, 5.26), who's 0-7 with a 6.65 ERA in his last 12 starts and has allowed 13 homers in his last eight. The rough stretch includes an 11-6 loss at Milwaukee on July 6, when the left-hander gave up six runs in 2 1-3 innings, including a homer to Braun. Duke didn't factor in the decision.Duke is 0-3 with a 7.76 ERA in six games at Miller Park.

NELLY

Oakland at Seattle Over

As bad as the record for the Mariners is, the offensive numbers are pretty decent. On the season Seattle has enjoyed solid success against left-handed pitching with a .282 season average and although Seattle is 6-14 in the last 20 games the Mariners are averaging nearly five runs per game. The over has cashed in eight of the last ten games as Seattle?s pitching has not held up. Pitching some of the season in the big leagues last year Ryan Feierabend struggled with an 8.03 ERA and this year he has not been any better in his lone start, allowing ten hits and six runs over three innings. Oakland rookie Gio Gonzalez has great potential but he has been hit hard in two of his three outings. Walks have been a problem so he will not be able to deep into this game, leaving the bullpens likely exposed to a heavy workload. Oakland has been the ultimate under team with good pitching and weak offensive numbers but the A?s should find plenty of opportunities to score against Seattle and the Mariners have been hitting left-handers well of late.

Tom Freese

Boston at Toronto

Boston starter Paul Byrd is 16-6 on the road vs. AL teams that score 4.7 or less runs in the second half of the year. Boston is 128-59 with revenge from a loss a sa home favorite of -150 or more. The Red Sox are swinging hot bats scoring 4 or more runs in 9 of their last 10 starts. Toronto is just 4-13 their last 17 games after winning 6 or 7 of their last 8 games. PLAY ON BOSTON

1 STAR SELECTION

Green Bay +2 1/2 over DENVER

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers travel to the Mile High City on Friday when they meet up with the Broncos in the third preseason tune-up for each club.

This game will be a pivotal outing for Rodgers who has had his struggles thus far in the preseason, sustaining six sacks in two games and posting a middling 71.3 passer rating. Unlike his counterpart with the Packers, Denver quarterback Jay Cutler has been mostly sharp in the preseason to date. The former first-round pick is 24-of-30 for 237 yards and a touchdown during the tune-up period, and will put am impressive passer rating of 110.7 on the line in Friday's contest.

We expect things to be a little different here, as we have a very motivated Green Bay club rolling into Denver.

Said G Jason Spitz, "It was an embarrassment. I expect to play well regardless. It’s my job. We didn’t come out and play well - I didn’t play well."

We also have a team in the Broncos that was very motivated last week and came away with a win over the Cowboys. Here, we expect a letdown.
Finally, a couple of NFLX POWER SYSTEMS point to a Packers cover.

Our first system advises: Play ON a road team off a SU loss of 21+ points its last game and a SU loss before that. (14-4 ATS). We also have one that states: Play AGAINST a favorite off a SU win of 10+ points in its last game and no SU wins before that vs. a sub-.500 opponent off a SU loss of 10+ points. This system is a strong 15-2 ATS.

With an embarrassed, motivated Green Bay team taking on a satisfied Broncos squad, we'll take the points and back the visitors.

PROJECTED FINAL MARGIN: GREEN BAY OVER DENVER BY 3 POINTS

SPORTS GAMBLING HOTLINE

Philadelphia at NEW ENGLAND -3

Tonight in the NFL we are interested in laying the points with the Patriots regardless of Tom Brady's playing status.

New England has yet to win in the preseason, but with a battle going on for the back-up QB spot, you can expect the Pats to be ready to roll this evening at home.

Week 3 of the exhibition season has been the week that Bill Belichick has regularly pointed to as the week his teams show up, as New England sports a 5-1 straight up, and against the spread record the last 6 summers, and they are a perfect 3-for-3 the last 3 years.

Philadelphia comes into this one off a 24-point 4th quarter eruption in their home win, and cover over Carolina last week, but the Birds are just 3-6 straight up, and 2-7 against the spread in Week 3 of the preseason under Andy Reid, and we definitely see New England showing up in this spot as they erase the last 2 weeks of preseason rust.

Play on the Patriots.

2♦ NEW ENGLAND
