4 UNIT PLAY

Baltimore/ Tampa Bay Over 7.5

The Over is 7-1 in Orioles last 8 games following an off day and 25-10-4 in their last 39 vs. a team with a winning record, while the Over is 4-1 in Rays last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing record and 4-1 in Kazmirs last 5 starts vs. Orioles. The Baltimore offense comes in hot right now, as they are scoring 6 ppg in their last 7 games, plus this team really hits lefties well as they have a .290 BA and are scoring 5.5 rpg vs them on the year. Baltimore also scores 5 rpg on the road and 5.5 rpg at night. The Rays offense has not been that strong this year, but they still score 4.5 rpg at home and 4.9 rpg vs righty starters, plus they have scored 5.8 rpg in 11 meetings with the O's, including 6 rpg vs them at home.Scott Kazmir has had a nice year, but he does come in with a less than sterling 5. 48 ERA in his last 4 starts, with those games averaging 9.8 rpg. Scott also has a 5.48 ERA in his last 8 starts vs the O's, with those games averaging 10.6 rpg. Jeremy Guthrie has had a nice year with a 3.28 ERA overall, but his starts have averaged 8.6 rpg. He does have a nice 2.64 ERA on the road, but those games have still averaged 9.2 rpg. The last 11 games between these two team at the Trop has averaged 11.5 rpg, including 9 rpg in the 6 games played here this year. Even though there is a solid pitching matchup on the mound, I feel that both offenses are more than capable of getting at least 4 runs in this one. THe OU line is too low here.

3 UNIT PLAY

NY Mets -120 over FLORIDA

The Mets are 8-1 in their last 9 games vs. a right-handed starter and 7-1 in Perezs last 8 starts vs. a team with a winning record, while the 1-4 in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 4-13 in their last 17 home meetings with the Mets. The Mets are in a dogfight with the Phillies in the NL East and they need to get all the wins they can to keep their hopes alive. Tonight they take on a struggling Marlins team that comes in just 3-5 in their last 8 games and they also have to be a bit tired after returning home from a tough 9 game road trip. Chris Volstad gets the call for the Fish tonight and he has been decent this year, going 4-3 with a 3.42 ERA overall, but he is 1-2 with a 4.92 ERA at home, plus he has gone just 1-2 with a 4.96 ERA in his last 3 starts overall. The Marlins offense has not blessed Chris with much run support as they put just 2.3 rpg on the board for him overall, including 2 rpg for him at home. Overall the Marlins score just 4.2 rpg at home. Oliver Perez has had a good year for the Mets as he is 9-7 with a 4.00 ERA overall, including a 3-2 mark with a 2.63 ERA in his last 10 starts. Oliver may be just 5-5 with a 4.20 ERA on the road overall, but his last 5 road starts have been pretty good as he is 2-2 with a solid 2.84 ERA. The Met offense has been good of late, averaging 5.3 rpg in their last 7 games, plus they score just 5 rpg on the road. The Mets are playing better ball and the need this one more, plus they will be facing a tired Marlin team that has a struggling pitcher on the mound. Go Mets in this one.

2 UNIT PLAYS

Texas/ LA ANGELS Over 9.5

The Over is 8-1 in Rangers last 9 vs. American League West and 20-8 in Rangers last 28 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game, while the Over is 6-1-1 in Angels last 8 home games vs. a right-handed starter and 4-1 in Santanas last 5 starts vs. American League West. This has been a bit of a high scoring series, as the Over is 12-4-2 in the last 18 meetings between these two teams with an average of 12.2 rpg being scored, while the Over has gone 7-1-1 in the last 9 meetings in LA with an average of 12.2 rpg being scored. Ervin Santana has pitched well at home with a 3.57 ERA, with his last 3 home starts averaging 12.7 rpg. Granted all were on the road, but Ervin has a 7.36 ERA in his last 5 starts vs the Rangers, with those games averaging 13 rpg. Dustin Nippert has just 1 start ob the year and he allowed 7 ER in just 4 innings vs the Jays. Dustin has made 6 starts overall in his career and he has a 9.10 ERA in those starts, with all but one of those starts putting double digits on the board. The Rnagers score 5.7 rpg vs righties this year, and they score 5.2 rpg on the road. Texas' road games have averaged 11.1 rpg, while their night games have averaged 10.8 rpg. The Angels offense scores 4.7 rpg at home and 4.8 rpg and I do see them having more success tonight vs Nippert, while the powerful Texas offense gets their fair share of runs as well. Should be a wild one.

1 UNIT PLAY

Toronto -113 over NY YANKS

AJ Burnet has been hot of late, going 7-1 with a 3.30 ERA in his last 9 starts, while the Jays are 10-3 in his last 13 starts overall. AJ is also 6-2 with a 2.63 ERA in his career vs the Yanks. Carl Pavano is making just his 2nd start for the Yanks and even though he pitched ok in that game, he is still just 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 5 career starts vs the Jays. NY is off a tough emotional series vs the Red Sox and I can't seem them getting up for this one, especially with Pavano on the mound. Toronto steals one tonight.

Tom Freese 20* GOY

Prediction: New York Mets

New York is 10-3 their last 13 games vs. a pitcher with a WHIP over 1.30 and they are 48-23 after a day off. The Mets are 8-1 their last 9 games vs. righty starters and they are 7-0 their last 7 games when Oliver Perez faces NL East foes. The Mets are 4-0 with Perez vs. Florida this year and he has allowed just 6 runs total in those for starts. Florida is 4-11 their last 15 Friday games and they are 0-4 off a road trip of 7 or more days. The Fish are 4-13 their last 17 home games vs. the Mets. 20* MLB GAME OF THE YEAR!
