Friday

Meche was hammered last out versus the Cards after a nice string of quality starts..only 3 IP...liking his chances at a nice price....

Philly scoring 4.5 RPG last 10...21 of those runs came in two games...

Hamels 90 hits in 76 IP...Early $$'s on the Phills..if this one continues to rise will have a hard look at Toronto, +118 currently...More later time permitting

Chicago/Cleveland

As bad as Floyd looks when traveling Pavano looks even worse at home..
The Cleveland starter may well have hit the wall after a several decent starts in his comeback bid.. 31 hits and 18 earned runs last 13 IP..plus one of those starts was off a 9 day rest.

Meanwhile Floyd's last 3 has been exceptional allowing a total of 3 earned versus Cubs, Detroit and Dodgers... Considering the Chisox are scoring well above their season average last 7.. 5.7 vs 4.3 while facing much better than the Indians... Doubt Pavano can eat up the innings like Floyd which should bring Clevelands pen into play...

Liking Chicago here at a decent price..

Chisox -111

LAA/Texas

While Saunders last 3 starts have gone over most of the scoring has come from the Angels... 25 runs in those 3 tilts while allowing 6...Could be a different story tonight facing an underrated Feldman.. 2-10 o/u for the year..allowing 56 hits in 71 IP....more impressive is his 0-6 o/u at Texas Stadium... 2.57 ERA...... seeing some 10.5's will be keeping a close watch..

Chime in if you like..I don't mind varying opinions....

Harens 7-5 record isn't indicative of his overall performance, .189 BAA 2.19 ERA allowing 2 or less last 7.

Both teams off an offensive explosion last night but the the Rocks .212 BA
last 7 combined with Zona's ineptness when traveling (.222 BA) makes u8.5 worth considering....

Jimenez after a rough start (7.58 ERA first 4) has since lowered his ERA to a respectable 3.75......allowing 3 or less in 8 of 12

Both starters likely to get 7 innings, keeping the pens work to a minimum...

STRAIGHT BET07/05/2009 @ 12:10 PM MLB [912] TOTAL u8½-110 (ARI D'BACKS vrs COL ROCKIES)

Yankees/Twins

Baker has lowered his ERA nearly 2 runs since May 19...allowing 3 runs or less in 7 of last 8.... Sabathia much like Pettitte prefers the road to the New Yankee Stadium...Off a poor start but has owned the Twins... 2.82 ERA last 10 starts....

seldom lay 120 on totals but....

S BAKER-R/C SABATHIA-L u9-120

Rays/Chisox total....

Rays tied for second in MLB at 5.4 RPG...while Chisox have surpassed this number 7 of 9..averaging a season high 6.5 over past 10....add Price to the mix with a near 1-1 walk to K ratio.

Tampa/Chicago o9

Thursday

Chisox problems of late, losing 5 of 6 can be attributed to the 3.1 RPG last 10...only San Francisco has fared worse...Previouslly we discussed Pettittes lack of success in the new stadium..not so when traveling..even with the beat down applied by LAA.. he has allowed just 43 hits in 46 IP with a 3.69 ERA

Floyd meanwhile below 3 ERA at home with 10 less hits than IP....Think this is a good price on the hot Yankee club (-120) but I'll side with the better play

Yankees/Chisox u9.5 -115

Milwaukee/San Diego

Brewers problems of late stem not from the offense (.283 last 7) but the inability to stop the opposition...7+ RPG... While the Pads are far from an offensive juggernaut they have scored 6+ over their past 8...

Brewers have not fared well at San Diego dropping 5 of past 7..Considering Burns .365 BAA when traveling (.314 overall) will take my chances with the Pads at a decent price

San Diego

Sunday

Under normal circumstances the weak hitting A's would be made to order for a pitcher with a near .300 BAA (road) ..however looking over the A's past 10 games they are scoring well over their season average as well as hitting .300 plus.....

Post All Star Romero struggles to get out of the 5th with an ERA near 7 allowing 21 hits in 15 IP.... Jays Pen not as effective when traveling and Mazzaro is being tagged for 4.64 at home.... 10.80 last 3 ...27 hits in 13 IP

The so called "SHARPS" are hitting the under..opening at 9..now 8.5 -100

Keeping a close eye to see where this one bottoms..Looking o8.5  will post if it becomes a play

Tuesday

The Boston offense has been awesome over the past 10.. but looking a bit deeper you'll find the 7+ RPG came against two of the bottom 5 A.L. staffs
4 games vs #10 Oakland
6 games vs #12 Baltimore

The game plan when facing Tampa has been LHP... just not Jon Lester...losing both starts this season...4-4 with gaudy 5+ ERA last 3 seasons..

Meanwhile, hard to find anyone in the A.L with Garzas numbers when facing the Bosox
7-1 2.67 ERA

Allowing 60 hits in 75 IP this season at the Trop makes laying the 108-110 well worth considering....Huge series for the Rays..I'll lay the small vig with the home team....

Shopping this a bit but willing to lay the 110
