St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds

St Louis will be hoping history does not repeat itself when they open this four game set at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. When these two clubs squared off last Wednesday in St Louis the Reds pounded today's starter Adam Wainwright for 8 hits, 9 runs over 2.0 innings leaving Bush Stadium with a 10-0 victory. By far Wainwright's shortest outing of his career but the hurler remains a solid 15-8 (18-10 TSR) on the campaign with a 2.96 ERA and owns a smart 11-4 team start record on the road. On the other side, Reds will also be hoping Mat Latos enjoys better results than Tuesday in St Louis when the right-hander tossed 6 solid innings of 4 run-ball but was tagged with a loss in a Reds 6-1 defeat. With the loss, Latos heads to the mound 13-5 (16-10 TSR) overall with a 3.03 ERA and will put a sparkling 9-2 home team start record on the line. A deeper dive into our baseball betting database reveals some compelling numbers in Reds' / Latos' favor. The team is 5-0 at home in day games with the hurler, 5-0 in his September starts since his arrival in Cinci with the kicker being Reds are 2-0 vs Cardinals when they hook Latos against Wainwright. Those numbers in hand, Reds are the choice.
