Miami at Washington

The Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals get ready to duel again Saturday evening at Marlins Park. It's not difficult making a case for Miami as the presence of Jose Fernandez on the mound bodes well for Marlins' chances. History shows Jose Fernandez loves pitching in front of the friendly crowd at Marlins Park. In the righthanders 30 starts at the venue he is 20-1 with Miami 26-4 in those games. The dominance is reflected by the fact he's allowed an average 1.93 runs/game in front of the home audience over the span with a 232-55 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Additionally, Fernandez, the reigning National League Player of the Week, posting a 2-0 record, 0.64 ERA and 22 strikeouts in his last two starts is 5-0 life-time vs Nationals with Marlins 6-2 over the eight starts including 5-1 at home. Fernandez trades pitches with Nats' Joe Ross tagged with a loss in his last outing which was against Marlins allowing five runs in 5 2/3 innings.

BetOnline.ag opened Miami -$1.45 favorites in their own backyard with the total at 7 runs.
