Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners
Rangers ridding an 11-4 (+$564) stretch including 7-1 (+$610) streak on the road look to Derek Holland (3-2, 3.30 ERA) on Saturday when they play the second of this three game set vs Mariner. Holland has had a rough time last two outings giving up 8 runs over 10 1/3 innings picking up a pair of no-decision as Ranger bats came to the rescue in a 6-5 win over A's and most recently an 11-8 victory vs Tigers. Meanwhile, Mariners haven't been anything to write home about as they have lost seven straight plating 3.0 runs/game while the pitching staff has surrendering a whopping 7.9 per contest. Mariners hope to crack the win column with Felix Hernandez (5-3, 2.07 ERA) on the bump. The Seattle ace hit a rough patch last time out in Cleveland giving up six runs in five innings in Mariners' 0-6 loss. Given what both clubs have done lately, sticking with underdog Rangers has merit. Rangers pounding the ball with consistency plating 5.6 runs/game of late are a strong 12-4 vs the division, 5-1 on the year as underdogs, 5-2 vs Mariners w/Holland. On the other side, struggling Mariners are on a 1-9 skid w/Hernandez facing a team with a winning record, 1-4 slump as a home favorite with the hurler, 7-13 skid his last 20 May starts.
