Chicago Cubs at Miami Marlins (-155, 7.5)
Chicago has lost four in a row and is already six games out of first in the NL Central.
Miami pounded out a season-high in runs (nine) and hits (14) against the Cubs on Wednesday, riding the hot bat of Hanley Ramirez to its third consecutive victory.
The Marlins are 4-1 on their current homestand at new Marlins Park, improving their season record to 6-6. Ricky Nolasco gets the start for Miami, carrying a 3-2 lifetime record against Chicago into the matchup. The Cubs counter with Jeff Samardzija, who struck out 10 in his first start of the season but ran into some trouble after Chicago built a nine-run lead on the opening game of the roadtrip. Samardzija makes his first career appearance against Miami.
Miami’s Donnie Murphy figures to start again at second base in place of Omar Infante (groin strain). Murphy finished with two hits, two runs scored and three RBIs on Wednesday.
Miami has won four of its last five against the Cubs.
Pick: Marlins
Atlanta Braves at Arizona Diamondbacks (105, 9.5)
Winners of seven of their last eight, the Braves begin a seven-game road trip against the Diamondbacks on Thursday. The Braves' loud bats were in full swing against the NL East rival Mets as they scored 23 runs to take the final two games of their series.
Second baseman Dan Uggla got untracked, hitting a two-run blast in Wednesday's win.
While Atlanta is surging, Arizona is hurting -- both physically and in the standings. After putting All-Star outfielder Chris Young on the disabled list with a right shoulder injury, the Diamondbacks fell for the fourth time in six games with a 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.
Braves lefty Mike Minor is coming off a fine outing, one run allowed in 7 1/3 innings, while D-Backs starter Josh Collmenter has given up five earned runs in each of his two starts.
Freddie Freeman, who belted a two-run homer in Atlanta's 14-6 victory on Wednesday, has three hits in five career at-bats versus Collmenter.

Philadelphia Phillies @ San Diego Padres – Series Preview
Sportspic.com
The Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres have both stumbled out of the gate in the 2012 Major League Baseball season. That's a surprise for Philadelphia, but not for San Diego.
Game 1: Thursday, April 19
If you are interested in Betting on baseball this season, games like the first one in this four-game set are the real tough ones to deal with. Philadelphia will start Vance Worley, while San Diego will go with Joe Wieland. Pitchers at the lower end of the starting rotation are harder to figure out in general, but this is even more the case when dealing with the third week of the regular season, a time when arms are still loosening up and pitchers are trying to find themselves. It's hard to definitively know just where Worley and Wieland are. All things considered, one should probably bank on the Phillies, given their identity as a regular playoff team (they have made the playoffs every year since 2007), to cobble together enough runs to dig out a victory on Thursday.
Pick: Philadelphia
Game 2: Friday, April 20
The team that has to stand out as the choice of sports betting experts in the second game of this series is Philadelphia. The Phillies are going with a top-end starting pitcher, lefty Cole Hamels, while San Diego is sending Edinson Volquez to the bump. Volquez is carrying an earned-run average of over 4.20 into this contest. Hamels is a steady hand who knows how to change speeds and get hitters off balance. Given the fact that San Diego has been by far the most impotent team in the National League West (nine fewer runs than the next worst scoring team entering Monday, April 16), Hamels should be able to hold the Padres in check. The Phillies are a high-percentage selection on Friday night in Southern California.
Pick: Philadelphia
Game 3: Saturday, April 21
When you do your homework and assess your sports bet on this game, the third in the four-game series, the main problem for San Diego is that when it sends Cory Luebke to the mound, it will be giving the ball to a man who has not gotten past the sixth inning this season. Luebke is a little-known pitcher who has yet to cultivate a clear-cut reputation as a workhorse. Who will oppose Luebke on the hill for the Phillies? The answer is none other than Roy Halladay, one of the elite pitchers in the sport and a guy who can certainly pitch a complete game in any given start. This is a mismatch, and even though Philadelphia entered April 16 as one of only two National League teams to score fewer than 30 runs, the Phillies should be able to win this game because of the pitching matchup.
Pick: Philadelphia
Game 4: Sunday, April 22
The Phillies will return to the back end of their rotation in this game, sending Joe Blanton to the mound against Anthony Bass for the Padres. Bass is a middle reliever being pressed into service as a starter in this contest, but he's been very effective each time he's taken the ball this year. The Padres will relish seeing Blanton after Hamels and Halladay. They'll bust loose with the bats and win this contest on Sunday.
Pick: San Diego
Braves - Diamondbacks Preview
Sportspic.com
Atlanta Braves swinging mean sticks defeated division rival Mets 14-6 Wednesday to run it's winning streak to 7-1. Surging Braves head west for a seven-game road swing starting in Arizona. Braves count on Mike Minor (1-1, 4.38 ERA) in the opener of this four-game set. The southpaw who has yet to face D'Backs in his young career produced his finest start last time out as he limited Brewers to two hits in 7 1/3 innings in a 2-1 Atlanta victory. Meanwhile, D'Back suffering another loss yesterday vs Pirates and now 2-6 the past eight try to right the ship with Josh Collmenter (0-0, 12.86 ERA) heading to the bump. Collmenter's spring struggles have carries over into regular season as the hurler lasted just three innings in his first start, four in the second surrendering a whopping 11 runs, 3 yard-ball over the seven innings of work. Stick with hot bats and better arm. Braves are 8-0 with Minor following a quality start, 10-4 last fourteen with the hurler, 8-3 vs the N.L. West.
