Patrick Everson

MLB betting odds for Tuesday’s games are on the board and seeing early action, as baseball tries to beat back COVID-19. Among the highlights is the opener of a quickie two-game set between the L.A. Dodgers and the Houston Astros.

PointsBet USA’s Patrick Eichner provided insights on MLB opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Tuesday’s matchups. Covers will update this action report with MLB sharp picks vs. public bets and line movement throughout Tuesday.

MLB line movement

PointsBet USA opened the Dodgers -140 Monday night, and it didn’t take long for Los Angeles to reach -160, with Walker Buehler set for his first start (14-4, 3.26 ERA in 2019). The Astros, in turn, went from +120 to +135 home underdogs for a 9:10 p.m. ET start.

Later Monday, L.A. ticked back to -150 and Houston to +130.

The St. Louis Cardinals-Minnesota Twins tilt opened St. Louis -115 and host Minnesota even money, then flipped in pretty short order to Twins -125/Cards +105. First pitch is 8:10 p.m. ET.

And PointsBet USA opened the Atlanta Braves -145/Tampa Bay Rays +125, which didn’t hold up long at all, sprinting to Rays -131/Braves +110 for a 6:40 p.m. ET meeting in Tampa Bay.

MLB sharp money

Eichner said PointsBet USA saw early sharp money on the Twins, guiding Minnesota’s shift from underdog to favorite against St. Louis.
