Athletics option LHP Dallas Braden to Sacramento, recall LHP Dan Meyer

DETROIT (AP) -The Oakland Athletics optioned left-handed pitcher Dallas Braden to Triple-A Sacramento and recalled left-handed pitcher Dan Meyer on Monday.
Braden (1-7) lasted just 1 2-3 innings Sunday, allowing eight runs and seven hits in an 11-6 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
He hasn't won since April 24 - his first major league start - and is the first Oakland pitcher to lose more than six straight in one season since Mike Mohler in 1997.
Braden became the first pitcher in the major leagues since 2004 to give up two homers to the same batter in one inning, allowing Magglio Ordonez to do it Sunday.
Meyer was 6-2 with a 3.40 ERA, ranking among Pacific Coast League leaders, in 19 starts for Triple-A Sacramento. He was acquired from Atlanta before the 2005 season as part of the Tim Hudson trade.
Dodgers bring up Hillenbrand

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers purchased the contract of infielder Shea Hillenbrand from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
Hillenbrand was designated for assignment by the Angels on June 29 after hitting .254 with three homers and 22 RBI this season. He was placed on waivers July 9 and the San Diego Padres signed him to a minor league contract later in the month.
Hillenbrand didn't play in a game with the Padres and San Diego released him last Wednesday. The Dodgers signed him on Friday.
To make room for him on the roster, LA optioned outfielder Delwyn Young to Las Vegas. The Dodgers also placed pitcher Jason Schmidt on the 60-day disabled list Monday.

Reds put Ross to DL with concussion, call up Jorgensen
CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds put catcher David Ross on the 15-day disabled list and called up catcher Ryan Jorgensen from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
Ross sustained a concussion Sunday in a collision at home plate in which San Diego's Mike Cameron scored.
Jorgensen played briefly for the Florida Marlins in 2005, appearing in four games. In 69 games at Louisville, he batted .229 with two home runs and 26 RBIs.
The Reds also said starting shortstop Alex Gonzalez did not accompany the team to Chicago, remaining behind because of the continued illness of his 10-month-old son.
The Reds opened a three-game series with the Cubs on Tuesday night.
Infielder Mark Bellhorn has accepted assignment to Louisville, the Reds said.
Tigers acquire OF Perry from Oakland

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers Tuesday acquired outfielder Jason Perry from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for infielder Jack Hannahan.
Perry, who will be assigned to Triple-A Toledo by Detroit, played at both Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento this season. He went .256 with seven doubles and five home runs with 17 RBI in 21 games with Midland. While with Sacramento, Perry batted .268 with 16 doubles, 18 homers and 58 RBI over 78 games.
Hannahan had nine at-bats over three games for Detroit in 2006, but has yet to notch a hit in the majors.
