MLB Picks & Predictions for Monday, September 27, 2010

The NL West again is in center stage for Monday’s MLB Picks & Predictions as the three teams competing for the title all look to improve their standing.
The San Francisco Giants lead the San Diego Padres by ½ a game in the standings while the Colorado Rockies are back 4.5 games. The Giants are not in action tonight while the Padres face the Cubs and the Rockies take on the Dodgers.
Philadelphia is 1 win away from locking up the NL East title while the Reds are also a win away or a Cardinals loss from winning the NL Central. The Phillies take on the Washington Nationals at home while the Cardinals host the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds are not in action tonight.
Here are three picks we like for Monday’s slate of games.
Chicago Cubs at San Diego Padres, 10:05PM ET
San Diego is 4-0 against the Cubs this season and 6-3 against the Cubs overall over the last three seasons at home while they are 11-9 overall against the Cubs since 2008.

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians, 7:05PM ET
Detroit is 30-21 against Cleveland since 2008 overall and 9-6 against the Indians this season. Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga is 5-3 against Cleveland in his career, including the should have been perfect game earlier this season.

Boston Red Sox at Chicago White Sox, 8:10PM ET
Chicago is 3-0 against Boston this year and 10-8 against the Red Sox since 2008. The Chi Sox are also 5-3 against Boston at home since 2008 while Boston starter Clay Buchholz has a 9.94 ERA against Chicago.
