By Drew Sharper

The NL West has a major showdown, a potential National League Playoff matchup, and the great rivalry are featured in Saturday’s MLB Picks & Predictions

Bet Major League Baseball

The featured game on Saturday has the San Francisco Giants and Barry Zito taking the mound against the Colorado Rockies and Jason Hammel. The Giants currently have a ½ game lead over the San Diego Padres in the standings while the Rockies are 4.5 games out.

San Diego takes on Cincinnati on Saturday. The Reds have a magic number of 3 to lock up the NL Central lead. The Reds lead St. Louis by 6.5 games.

Boston and New York meet once again in arguably the greatest rivalry in sports. The Yankees trail Tampa Bay by ½ a game in the AL East while the Red Sox are essentially out of the playoff picture.

San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies, 8:10PM ET

The Rockies are 15-9 against the Giants over the last three seasons in Colorado and 4-2 this year. Hammel is just 0-2 against the Giants, but his ERA is just 2.95 as he has not gotten the run support in those decisions.
