MLB Picks & Predictions for Sunday, October 3, 2010
By Drew Sharper

The National League still has a couple of playoff spots up for grabs on the final day of the season as San Diego, San Francisco, and Atlanta all can lock up spots on Sunday.

Bet Major League Baseball

San Francisco has a 1-game lead on San Diego in the NL West standings while the Padres and Braves are tied for the lead in the NL Wild Card Standings. The Padres and Giants meet again today while the Braves take on the Phillies.

Should the Padres and Braves both win on Sunday, the Giants and Padres will have a playoff game on Monday and then the loser of that game would play the Braves in a 1-game playoff on Tuesday to determine the wild card winner.

Philadelphia Phillies at Atlanta Braves, 1:35PM ET

The Phillies are 16-9 against Atlanta in Atlanta over the last three seasons and 31-21 overall during that stretch. Philadelphia pitcher Cole Hamels is 9-5 against Atlanta in his career while Atlanta’s Tim Hudson is 5-7 against the Phillies.
