MLB FREE PICK: Take the Mariners. According to the latest MLB trends, Rangers are 2-5 in their last 7 games following a win and are 1-4 in their last 5 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game. Mariners are 4-0 in Iwakuma's last 4 home starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5, 6-1 in Iwakuma's last 7 starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5 and are 4-1 in Iwakumas last 5 home starts. The Texas Rangers enter the final two weeks of the season holding a four-game lead over the Oakland Athletics as they pursue their third consecutive American League West title. The Rangers will be without Josh Hamilton (42 homers) for at least the series opener. The Rangers will start 21-year old Martin Perez, who has been coming out of the bullpen. Iwakuma gave up two runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings last time out at Texas. Iwakuma has been much better at home, with an ERA exactly two runs lower at Safeco Field (2.57) than on the road. You get a nice value with the Mariners at home.
