MLB Red Sox vs. Angels Picks & Predictions for July 7, 2013
By Anthony Rome

ANAHEIM, CA (ATS Consultants) - Two teams that have won 8 of their last 10 games respectively will meet in Anaheim tonight when the Angels host the Red Sox at 8:05PM ET for Sunday Night Baseball.

ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Angels are -131 money line favorites over the Red Sox, who are +121 money line underdogs. With John Lackey set to face Jered Weaver in the pitching matchup, the total is currently sitting at 8 runs.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Angels opened as -133 money line favorites but their odds have dropped slightly to -131, while the Red Sox' odds have gone from +123 down to +121. Boston is 54-35 overall and 23-19 on the road this year, while Los Angeles is 42-45 overall and 23-23 at home.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the current wagers placed on tonight’s game, 51% of the betting public currently favors Los Angeles. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most updated numbers.

MLB FREE PICK: Take Boston. According to latest MLB trends, Boston is 7-0 last 7 as an underdog of +110 to +150, 10-4 last 14 during game 3 of a series and 15-7 last 22 road games with the total set at 7.0 to 8.5. LA Angels are 3-8 last 11 at home in series, 1-4 in Weaver's last 5 Sunday starts and 1-5 last 6 games as a home favorite.

The Boston Red Sox have been a major surprise in the first half of the baseball season and that's partially due to the performance of John Lackey. The former Angels pitcher missed last season due to Tommy John surgery. He's back with a vengeance this year, posting a 6-5 record with a 2.81 ERA. He goes up against Jered Weaver (2-4, 3.70), the Angels' ace, who has pitched well in his last two starts. Lackey has pitched well all season, including his last start against San Diego at home, when he gave up one run in eight innings in a 4-1 Red Sox win. Lackey has not given up more than three runs in nine of his last 10 starts. Weaver hasn't pitched against Boston since last August, when he allowed four runs in seven innings (Angels won 6-5). The Red Sox came into Saturday's game with a five-game winning streak and had won nine of their last 10. Boston takes the finale and continues their strong play.
