MLB FREE PICK: Take New York. According to latest MLB trends, the Yankees are 5-0 last 5 as a favorite, 18-5 in Kuroda's last 23 starts with 4 days of rest and 12-5 last 17 overall. The Blue Jays are 2-8 last 10 overall, 2-9 last 11 as a home dog and 0-4 in Redmond's last four starts.

The Yankees have won seven of 10 and 12 of its past 17 but still sit 4 1/2 games out of the league's second wild card spot. Last night, they destroyed the Blue Jays, 7-1. Alfonso Soriano hit two home runs to propel the Bronx Bombers. Nobody is hotter than Soriano, who has 11 home runs and 33 RBIs in 30 games since being dealt from the Chicago Cubs. The Yankees send Hiroki Kuroda (11-9, 2.71 ERA) to the mound. He has struggled his last two starts against Tampa Bay and Boston, but overall, he's been the Yankees' best pitcher this year. He's also 4-1 with a 3.03 ERA in 38 3/2 innings against the Blue Jays. He faces Todd Redmond (1-2, 4.44 ERA), who is coming off a terrible start against Houston. Redmond had given up just four runs in his previous three starts but the Astros figured him out, drilling him for eight runs (seven earned) in 3 1/3 innings.
