LAA Angels vs. Washington Nationals
Play: LAA Angels

LA Angels at Washington (Baseball action) 7:10pm ET Since missing the begin of the season with injuries the Angels were glad to get their ace back John Lackey, who is 4-1 with an ERA of 1.73. Look for the Angels to continue to have success on the East coast against the Nationals as these two teams square off in game one of the series on Monday, overall the Angels are the best road team in baseball and have one of the best bullpens. Look for the LA Angels to win yet again, as they have also won 9 of their last 10 series. Play LA Angels

Brewers vs. Braves

Ben Sheets has had little trouble in his career versus the Bravos as he is 5-0 versus Atlanta and he has cashed 10 of 12 road starts to date. Atlanta struggles against the National League Central as they are winless in six games. Our Monday selection in Major League Baseball action is Milwaukee Brewers.

LARRY NESS

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Boston Red Sox
PICK: Boston Red Sox

The D'backs were "sitting pretty" at the end of April, the proud owners of MLB's best record (20-8). Things have not been as 'pretty' since, as the D'backs will limp into Fenway Park tonight (on ESPN), having gone 19-29 since May 1, including only 6-17 on the road. That hardly bodes well here, as only the Cubs (32-8) own a better home mark in '08 than the Red Sox, who are 29-9 (plus-$1,580) in Fenway this season. The pitching matchup is a good one, with Dan Haren going for Arizona and Josh Beckett for the defending champs. Beckett has not dominated in '08 like he did last year but he is 4-0 in his five Fenway starts (team is 4-1), despite a surprisingly high home ERA of 4.81. Haren has pitched well in Chase Field this year (7-1 with a 2.41 ERA in eight starts / team is 7-2) but he's struggled on the road, going 0-3 with a 4.62 ERA in six starts (team is 2-4). Boston does well vs righties here in Fenway (23-8, averaging 5.7 RPG), while Arizona has struggled on the road vs right-handers, going 6-14 (averaging just 3.7 RPG). The price is a little high but the D'backs are struggling away from home and having to beat Beckett in Fenway is not exactly the easiest way out of a slump. Lay the price with the Red Sox.

STEPHEN NOVER

Seattle Mariners @ New York Mets
PICK: Seattle Mariners

Can Seattle really upset the Mets and Johan Santana at Shea Stadium? At this price, and with Felix Hernandez on the mound, I'm willing to make a small investment and take a shot.

First off, Santana isn't invincible. The Mets are 0-3 in his last three starts. Santana has been good so far, but he hasn't been dominant. He has a 5.27 ERA in two interleague starts. The Mets' bullpen has been far from reliable. Aaron Heilman should be wearing a uniform made strictly of cotton and fire resistant material.

Hernandez has been dominant during his last four outings. He's 4-0 with a 0.95 ERA and a 29-to-five strikeout-to-walk ratio. Opponents are batting .184 against him during this span. We're not talking about a Kyle Davies or Jorge De La Rosa here. "King Felix" isn't on some lucky run. He's the real deal.

It's not a good situation either for the Mets, returning from six games out West. Now they're switching time zones again. The first game home from a long trip can create personal distractions and negatively influence concentration. It's also new manager Jerry Manuel first game coaching the Mets at Shea.

The Mets will be playing short-handed. Their outfield is missing Ryan Church and Moises Alou and they won't have catcher Brian Schneider (bruised hand) or second baseman Luis Castillo (sore left quadriceps). The Mariners, on the other hand, are expected to have back third baseman Adrian Beltre.

For Euro 2008 play German is low line but very strong bet, turkey missing 6 first team players because of cards and Injuries, and in fact German are much better team and favorite to win Euro, now line is -250

Prediction: New York Mets

The Seattle Mariners and the New York Mets will both be trying to pick up a win on Monday when they battle at Shea Stadium in an interleague contest. Righthander Felix Hernandez will take the mound for the Mariners to start this game. Hernandez is 6-5 this season with a 2.87 ERA. The Mets will counter Hernandez with ace Johan Santana. Lefthander Santana has a 3.04 ERA to go along with a 7-5 record this season. Oddsmakers currently have the Mets listed as 155-moneyline favorites versus the Mariners, while the game's total is sitting at 7½. Jeff Clement hit a two-run shot for Seattle in its 8-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. Atlanta won as -200 home favorites as the teams played over the 9.5-run total listed by oddsmakers. Carlos Beltran's two-run homer lifted the Mets past the Colorado Rockies 3-1 on Sunday. New York won as -105 road underdogs as the teams played under the 10.5-run total set by oddsmakers.
