Stan Sharp

SDP (+130) vs CIN

Stan is Betting SAN DIEGO today. Stan notes that Cincinnati should be flat coming off big series with the Mets and that Cincinnati starter Homer Bailey has been getting pounded and has a ERA in 15.00 in 2 home starts. TAKE SAN DIEGO as STAN'S NL SHOCKER BIG BET OF THE WEEK and make them a DOUBLE DIME PLAY.

Marco D'Angelo

CWS -1.5 (+115) vs TEX

Tonight The White Sox look to bounce back after dropping 2 in a Row at home. This has happen 8 times before this year and The WHITE SOX are 8-0 at home following 2 or more losses at home. They have won those 8 games by an average of 4.5 Runs per game. TAKE THE WHITE SOX (-1.5 RUNS) as MARCO'S AL BLOWOUT GAME OF THE WEEK and make them a DOUBLE DIME PLAY

Detroit Tigers vs Kansas City Royals
Condition: Over

Tigers remain 6.5 back of the White Sox. KC is familar waters back double digits of the divison leader Chicago. Z Miner 3-3 takes on Hochevar 6-7. High scoring with these two hurlers on the mound. Take Det/KC Over

Tommy Dutch's NL Black Diamond Total Play!

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Houston Astros
Condition: Over

The number is high but not high enough. Both starting pitchers are junk and are likely to get knocked out of the game in the early innings. Once they're out the bullpens are unlikely to be able to slow down the offenses. This has the makings of an old fashion slugfest. Runelvys Hernandez has no business being in the Big Leagues right now. The Houston starting pitching situation is bleak and needs him to step up but he's not capable. The Astros need to check Round Rock. Hernandez is hittable and lacks control. He know faces a Pittsburgh which was quiet in Colorado but is capable of striking against lousy pitching. The Astros bullpen does well in late inning situations with the lead but can't be counted on to provide extended innings. The Pittsburgh pitching situation is equally as bleak for this one. Van Benschoten also doesn't belong in the Majors right now and should be played against until he is demoted. These are two play against pitchers so playing the 'over' is the right option. The Pittsburgh pen is without Matt Capps and is similar to Houston's when required to pitch extended innings. Take the 'over'

Lenny Del Genio's #1 MLB Game of the Week

Play on Boston

The Red Sox absolutely broke our hearts last night by allowing three runs in the bottom of the eighth. We look for them to get back on track tonight in Seattle. The lefty vs. lefty matchup of Jon Lester vs. Jarrod Washburn is very favorable to the visitors as Boston is 15-6 vs. southpaws this season compared to just 10-18 for the Mariners. Lester is on a personal four game winning streak having not lost a decision since right before Memorial Day. The Washington native has also been a great 2nd half pitcher going back to last year and beyond as he's led his team to wins in 12 of 14 post All-Star Break starts. Overall, the Red Sox have won 23 of his previous 32 so starts, so with them having lost the last time he took the hill, we expect a bounce back performance. Seattle's Jarrod Washburn has done a decent job lowering his ERA, but the fact remains Seattle has lost 13 of his 18 starts this season. Boston's offense is just too good to be held down this long (.280 BA still leads AL), especially by a weak team like Seattle that comes in having lost eight of 11, including two straight here at Safeco to a not very good Cleveland team. Boston is our #1 MLB Game of the Week.

John Ryan

Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners
Pick: Seattle Mariners

Ai Simulator 7* graded play on Seattle - Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 133-68 and has made 51.1 units since 2002. Play on home teams starting a over rested pitcher who is working on 7 or more days rest with a hot bullpen whose ERA is under 3.00 the last 15 games. Boston in a weak role noting that they are 3-11 (-11.0 Units) against the money line in road games versus teams whose hitters draw 3 walks or less/game this season. Boston is 5-11 losing 11.1 units with a well rested bullpen that threw 1 inning or less over last 2 games. Take Seattle.

Brian Gabrielle Sports

Oakland A’s at New York Yankees

The Pitchers: Athletics starter Justin Duchscherer is 10-5 in 16 starts covering 108.2 innings with 66 strikeouts, 23 walks and an amazing ERA of 1.82.

Yankees starter Andy Pettitte is 10-7 in 20 starts covering 125.0 innings with 91 strikeouts, 30 walks and a 4.03 ERA.

Analysis: I’ll keep this pick short and sweet for the BetUS MLB online sports wagering community by saying that the high-priced Yankees should take a cue from the much younger, but extremely competitive Oakland A’s, whose entire payroll could probably be absorbed by the Yankees several times over.

Roster salaries aside, I like the A’s, behind Justin Duchscherer to narrowly beat the Yankees and Andy Pettitte despite playing on the road. In a worst case scenario, I say take the A’s to cover the Run Line.

Oakland 4 New York 3

Kansas City Royals at Chicago White Sox

The Pitchers: Royals starter Brian Bannister is 7-8 in 19 starts covering 115.0 innings with 69 strikeouts, 34 walks and an ERA of 5.24.

White Sox starter John Danks is 7-4 in 19 starts covering 114.2 innings with 94 strikeouts, 31 walks and an amazing ERA of 2.67.

Analysis: I’ve liked Royals’ starter Brian Bannister since he made his big league debut in 2007 and generally think he’s got a bright future in front of him, but tonight’s matchup goes to the Chicago White Sox and impressive started John Danks.

White Sox 6 Royals 2

New York Mets at Cincinnati Reds

The Pitchers: Mets starter Pedro Martinez is 3-2 in nine starts covering 44.2 innings with 34 strikeouts, 18 walks and a 6.25 ERA.

Reds starter Edinson Volquez is 12-3 in 19 starts and just one relief appearance covering 117.2 innings with 126 strikeouts, 56 walks and a 2.29 ERA.

Analysis: While the New York Mets have been playing much better baseball recently, I like the Cincinnati Reds, behind the overwhelming Edinson Volquez, to beat the Mets narrowly, thanks to another stellar pitching performance from Volquez.

Reds 4 Mets 2

Pittsburgh Pirates at Colorado Rockies

The Pitchers: Pirates starter Zach Duke is 4-6 in 19 starts covering 110.1 innings with 44 K’s, 33 walks and a 4.40 ERA.

Rockies starter Aaron Cook is 11-6 in 20 starts covering 138.2 innings with 67 strikeouts, 31 walks and a 3.57 ERA.

Analysis: Since the Colorado Rockies are playing at home in this matchup and have the better starter on the mound, they are undoubtedly the right pick to win this contest. I say take the Rockies to cover the Run Line while going ‘Over’ the set O/U line if it isn’t more than 10 runs.

Rockies 6 Pirates 4

Chris James Sports

Florida Marlins

Tonight is the first game of a 3 game set between the Marlins and the Braves. Florida comes into this game after beating divison leader Philadelphia Phillies in an extra innings game yesterday which brings them to within a 1/2 game of first place. On the other hand, the Braves come into this game after losing a series to the Nationals and getting pounded yesterday 15-6 and giving up 4 errors! Look for the effects of both games to carry over into tonight! Florida sends their top young prospect, Christopher Volstad to the mound, in his second start. Volstad gave up one run and five hits, while striking out 6 in 8 2/3 innings against the Dodgers in his first start on July 11. The Marlins are 6-2 in their last 8 games overall and 6-1 in their last 7 games vs. a right-handed pitcher. Look for them to continue to use the long ball to win games tonight! The Braves send Jorge Campillo to the mound who is 4-4 with a 3.06 ERA on the year. In his last 3 starts he is 1-2 with a 5.00 ERA. The Braves are 2-5 in Campillos last 7 starts. The Braves have really been struggling on the road going only 16-36 in their last 52 road games and only 1-8 in their last 9 divisional games. Look for the Marlins to win easily tonight over the struggling Braves!
