MIL Brewers and CIN Reds
Take CIN Reds

The Reds are in terrible form right now, which is not surprising as they've been on the road, where they flat out stink. But they're really not bad at all in Cincinnati, where the Reds are five games over .500. Milwaukee still looks a little shaky off the Cubs disaster, even though they did okay in Atlanta. Manny Parra may be wearing down a bit and the Brewers could have trouble against Bronson Arroyo. I like the Reds chances in this one.

Karl Garrett

Cleveland +120 at TAMPA BAY

Going to take a chance on the underdog Indians tonight, as they do have Cliff Lee and his 14-2 mark going.

Tampa comes into this one on a 5-game win streak, but they sure looked shaky in yesterday's extra-inning win over Detroit. The bullpen was overworked, and the G-Man has a feeling that it is going to hurt them before tonight's game is over and done.

The Indians have won all 4 meetings against the Rays this season, and they are a dominating 18-3 versus the Rays since the start of the 2006 campaign.

Cleveland has handled Matt Garza once already, as Garza was rocked for 7 runs in 5 innings of work less than a month ago at Cleveland. Expect the Tribe to get the job done again tonight against Garza.

Cliff Lee is a perfect 3-0 in his 3 starts against Tampa, and one of those wins came in complete game fashion.

Upset winner on Cleveland this evening.

TONY MATHEWS

Cincinnati Reds vs. Washington Nationals
Cincinnati/Washington Over 9

The Cincinnati Reds will use starting pitcher Johnny Cueto. Johnny Cueto has struggled as of late. In fact, Johnny Cueto has a 7.27 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Johnny Cueto pitching another bad game today.

The Washington Nationals will use starting pitcher Collin Balester. Collin Balester has also struggled as of late. In fact, Collin Balester has a 5.17 ERA in his last 3 starts. We see Collin Balester pitching another bad game today.

To say the least, we should see a high-scoring game!

Craig Trapp

Boston Red Sox vs. Kansas City Royals
Play: Boston Red Sox

BOS got back on track sweeping OAK at home the last three games. Earlier this season they swept KC in Boston. The pitching matchup is favoring KC but look forward to BOS getting into KC bullpen. They will pull ahead late. BOS has historically dominated KC look more of the same here. Boston should pull ahead late and win easy.

Steve Janus

Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants
Play: San Francisco Giants

This is an Atlanta team that has been one of the worst road teams in baseball this year. The Braves are 18-37 in their last 55 road games plust they are sporting just a 2-7 record in their last 9 games overall. I think it's safe to say that Atlanta is already looking at next season. The same can probably be said about the Giants as well as they've had another dismal season, but they have won 4 in a row as favorites and they are 7-3 in their last 10 games against NL East opponents.

Oakland at TORONTO

Take the Blue Jays on the Run Line in this one, and let's be sure to list Roy Halladay in this one, as it'll make a big difference in us getting the blowout win.

I’ve watched both of these teams in the past two weeks, not to mention Halladay, and I can tell you that Toronto should absolutely destroy this team, while the former Cy Young winner should dominate Oakland’s lineup. When I saw Toronto last week against the D Rays, it didn’t surprise me to see him pitch a gem, only to be left out because of poor run support.

That won’t be the case today, as the Athletics’ pitching staff is about as abysmal as it comes. I watched Oakland in Yankee Stadium two weeks back, and now this team is back on the East Coast … talk about a tiresome schedule. It’s no wonder Oakland is mired in a 1-10 road skid and in an 8-20 slump right now.

Lay the run and a half with Toronto, as the Jays roll to a blowout win.

The Bookie Pays You:

We go BACK to the Brew-Crew for another release tonight!
The Brewers take on the Reds, and we see no HOPE for the
struggling Reds tonight. Lets make it short and sweet. The
Brewers are 9-1 in their last ten road games, and 6-1 in their
last seven as a road favorite. While Cincy is just 1-8 in their
last nine overall, and 1-4 in their last five home meetings with
the Brewers. Brewers all the way tonight! **** Thanks.

Atlanta – San Francisco: UNDER 7.0

Today’s MLB Baseball pick for Monday, August 04, 2008 is the UNDER 7.0 -120 in the game between the Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants. Being a numbers handicapper, I have a nice little trend on the UNDER in this game this evening, as the UNDER is 8-2-0 for the Atlanta Braves when they played as a +100 to +100 Road Underdog during a night game in this year.

Furthermore, here’s a nice baseball system that has hit 69% of the time since 1997.

Whenever you have a Home team as a Favorite and they are in one of these current situations:
• Vs Conference Opponent

• After a division game

• 1st game of a series

• Coming off a 3 run lost

• Coming off lost vs. Right handed pitcher

• Scored 1 or less runs FOR in their last game

The UNDER is 11-5-1 for the Home Fave in this spot since ’97.
