The last time they found themselves in a similar spot, they had lost two straight to the Rangers last Wednesday when they handed the ball to Sidney Ponson, who got them a win. Ponson is 11-2 lifetime against his former team with a 2.55 ERA, and he will be opposed by a pitcher who has never beaten New York in Glen Perkins. The Yankees are hitting .302 against lefties in their last 10 games and should batter Perkins, who is 0-2 in two lifetime starts against them with a 9.00 ERA. Bet New York as my Single Dime AL Underdog Play O' the Day.

I simply expect a lot of runs in this one, especially with St. Louis pitcher Joel Pineiro on the mound. The OVER is 4-1 in Pineiro's last five starts overall and on the road. The OVER is also 10-1-1 in the last 12 games away from home for the Cardinals, who have seen the OVER cash in nine of their last 11 games as an underdog as well. Brett who? That's what the Packers - especially new starting QB Aaron Rodgers - will be looking to prove on Monday night when they take on the Bengals. Rodgers may not play long, but whoever is in there for Green Bay should be able to take advantage of a young Cincinnati secondary. I don't think the Packer fans will be happy unless head coach Mike McCarthy proves they can score without Favre, so look for a lot of points in this one and bet the OVER as my Single Dime NFL Total Play O' the Day.
