Sidney Ponson gets the call today for the Yanks who are trying to right the ship after a 3 game sweep at the hands of the Angels. Ponson has been very consistent this season going (7-2) while averaging 6.2 Innings per start .Back on May 21 Ponson beat the Twins while still a member of the Rangers (10-1) . He has gone an amazing (8-1) vs the Twins his last 9 tries facing them .His road work has been dynamite this season as he is (4-2) away from Yankee Stadium while only allowing 2.8 Runs per contest .The last time these two teams met in the Bronx the Yanks completely ownedthe Twins sweeping the 3 games and outscoring them 25-7 .Perkins, although good on the year (8-3) for the Twins has not been all that sharp lately splitting his last 2 with a 6.87 ERA in those games .He also lost his last start to the Yanks (5-6 ) against Mussina .I like the price we are getting in this one and I think we have a slight edge on the mound so we go with the Yanks here as a small Dog .

With all the Favre BS now over , and the damage being done to the Packers It's finally time to playfootball.I say damage in the truest sense of the word , and I think this saga has set the Pack back at least a week in preparation .Although I think Aaron Rogers will be good I do think he will have a bit of deer in the headlights look tonight on the big stage .The Bengals have a bit of a new look and from all reports are firing on all cylinders in camp .I think the offense will be improved with another legit passing option in TE Ben Utecht that will ad a dimension to the passing game that they haven't had in years .On the Defensive side of the ball the players are starting to buy into Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer's Defensive Gap Scheme Defense , with no Free releases for the opposing wide outs .Of course than you have the wild card Chad Johnson and you never know what will come out of his yap ,but on the field there aren't many better .Look for the Bengals to be better prepared and as they get the Outright Win tonight over the Pack.
