The Milwaukee Bucks are currently in 8th place in the Eastern Conference. But they are tied with the Wizards, who are in 7th place. The Bucks would love to move into 7th because that would put them against the injury-ravaged Boston Celtics in the first round. They will be looking to win tonight.
It’s hard to trust the Nets right now after back-to-back ugly performances. The Nets lost by 12 at home to Detroit as 1-point underdogs and by 26 at Philadelphia as 8.5-point dogs. They are 25-53 right now, and there are two teams at 24-54, so they are better off losing out to try and improve their chances of getting a top draft pick.
The Bucks have made easy work of the Nets in their two previous meetings this season. Milwaukee won 116-91 as 5.5-point home favorites and 109-94 as 4.5-point road favorites. In fact, the Bucks are now 10-0 SU & 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings with Brooklyn as well. They are 23-7-1 ATS in their last 31 meetings with the Nets dating back further. Bet the Bucks Thursday.

This is a very big game for both these teams, in terms of playoff positioning. They each have identical records. The Jackets have been outstanding over the past month, going 13-2 their past 15. They feel that they have a score to settle against the Pens and I expect them to be extremely motivated this evening. In addition to the playoff implications, this is their reg. season home finale. They also have lost all three of this season's meetings against Pittsburgh. Don't forget that the Pens also knocked them out of the playoffs in the first round last season. (Columbus has only made the playoffs three times and the Pens have knocked them out in the first round twice.) With an O/U line of 5.5, note that Pittsburgh is just 6-9 (-4) when playing on the road when the O/U line was 5.5. Meanwhile, the Jackets are a lucrative 22-11 (+6.3) when playing at home with an O/U line of 5.5. While I obviously have a lot of respect for the Pens, given the setup, I feel that the Jackets are favored for good reason here. Consider Columbus.

I'm recommending a play on the Minnesota Twins on Thursday with Paxton & Gibson scheduled. James Paxton couldn't have pitched much worse in his first start as he was pummeled to the tune of six runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings, including a first-inning grand slam by Yonder Alonso. Meanwhile, Kyle Gibson pitched no-hit ball for six innings before being removed as the Twins beat Baltimore 6-2 on Saturday. Gibson picked up where he left off last season when he was 7-3 with a 3.76 ERA after the All-Star break and he's 2-1 with a 3.77 against Seattle the last three years in 31 innings. The Twins come off a 7-3 win at Pittsburgh, which snapped the Pirates' four-game winning streak and Thursday will be the home opener. The Mariners have lost five of Paxton's last six starts and 16 of their last 21 overall against teams with winning records. Minnesota has won 10 of Gibson's last 11 starts. The Warriors seem on a mission to get things right as they head into the playoffs. They have won three straight coming in.
