15 Dime Baseball Money Maker - LOS ANGELES ANGELS

While Angels’ lefty Joe Saunders has struggled to find his form this season, he does have some very good numbers against the A’s, leading the Angels to wins in seven of his last 10 starts against them. He was damn solid on Saturday in Seattle, holding the Mariners to one run on five hits in a 4-3 win. The Angels are on streaks of 27-10 when he gets a full five days of rest, 25-9 when he pitches the series opener and 14-6 when he pitches on Friday. Dallas Braden, he of perfect game fame, is back on the hill for the A’s but history has shown that guys coming back after a perfect game don’t fare so well, going 2-2 with a 4.85 ERA in the following start. And on the road this season, Braden is 1-1 with an 8.10 ERA. I’ll play the Angels in this one at home.

5 Dime Baseball Road Warrior - LOS ANGELES DODGERS

This is a big series for the Dodgers as they head down the freeway to San Diego to take on the red-hot Padres. San Diego’s formula for winning seems very shaky to say the least. The Padres have got to get perfect pitching to win games as they just don’t have the offense that is going to make it easy. Their bullpen is good, but the offense of the Dodgers is better. The likes of Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, James Loney and Casey Blake have the skills to carry this game and beat the Padres. John Garland is on the hill for the Padres, and while he’s been near perfect lately, the Dodgers will have the answers for him. Ramon Ortiz makes his first start since 2007 and this guy is a savvy veteran who knows how to pitch. He’ll keep the Dodgers in it and the offense will do the rest. Play the plus-money with the Dodgers.

10 Dime Padres

The Friars looked good in sweeping a key three-game series with the Giants the last three days, while concluding their recent road trip 5-1 and come home to open a five-game stretch at PETCO Park, where they have a 2.01 ERA.

And for as well the Padres have been playing to start the season, there's nothing like some home cooking against arch-rivals to run up the division lead.

While the Dodgers have lost nine of their last 11 as an underdog, the Padres are on winning runs of 6-2 as a home favorite and 19-7 overall.

Lay the cheap chalk at home.

Don't get why Milwaukee is favored over Philadelphia tonight?

The Brewers were just blasted in their latest 3-game home set against the Braves, losing all 3 of those games, and now they must face the National League champion Phillies.

I know Jamie Moyer is as old as the wheel, but he has sure looked good his last couple of times to the bump, and I can see him turneing in a solid 6 innings in tonight's start for the Phils.

Randy Wolf has allowed 7 runs over his last 11 innings for a 1-1 mark, and his last start against the Phillies saw him allow 6 runs in 6 innings for a loss last July.

Philly is too good to be installed as the underdog to a 15-19 team. Jump on this one early before we start to lose line value.

20 dime dog on Philadelphia over Milwaukee this evining at Miller Park.

Your 10 dime bonus best bet is to ride the Braves to win their 4th in a row, and hand the D-Backs their 7th straight loss.

Atlanta got their offense back in stride in sweeping Milwaukee earlier this week, and now they are back at home where they are 8-4 for the season.

Arizona just got swept at home against the Dodgers, and they are only 7-10 on the road for the year.

Ian Kennedy certainly rates the edge right now over the winless Kenshin Kawakami, but Kawakami is not going to lose every game he starts this year, is he?

Take the Braves for a 10 dime winner.

200,000♦ CARDINALS

Take the Cards for the road win over the Reds.

I love this Garcia kid. The rookie has pitched at least six innings in each of his six starts, giving up one or zero runs in five of them.

The left-hander has a 1.18 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 38 innings.

Cincinnati will counter with Aaron Harang, who has lost three straight starts to the Cardinals, including two this year.

The right-hander is 7-12 in his career with a 4.57 ERA against St. Louis.

With the Cardinals struggling and the Reds playing great right now this would seem to be an easy choice siding with Cincinnati. But the Reds were beating up on the lowly Pirates and the Cardinals were beating themselves against the Astros.

Look for St. Louis to rebound tonight behind its talented rookie.

Take the Cardinals for the road win.

25 Dime TEXAS RANGERS

Take the Rangers for the road win over the Blue Jays.

Texas is playing solid baseball right now and will be getting a big addition to its lineup tonight.

Nelson Cruz is expected to be activated off the DL after being out since April 26 with a hamstring injury. Cruz homered seven times in his first 11 games.

Rich Harden will get the start for the Rangers and he’s 2-0 with a 2.82 ERA over his last four starts, and Texas has won all four of those games.

This is a good time for the Rangers to be facing the Blue Jays on the road because Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill are both slumping right now.

Wells is in an 0-for-12 slump and Hill is mired in a 2-for-28 slide.

Harden has the stuff to keep those guys from breaking out.

Take the Rangers as they grab the road win.

10 Dime OAKLAND A's

Take the A’s for the road win over the Angels.

Dallas Braden gets the start for Oakland and he’s coming off a perfect game in his last outing over Tampa Bay.

While I’m not expecting another gem like that, I am reasonably confident he’ll outpitch Joe Saunders.

Saunders is 1-5 with a 6.19 ERA on the year for the Angels. The left-hander hasn’t been able to find his form this year and I expect the A’s to knock him around.

The Angels are also one of the lighter-hitting teams in the AL, so if Saunders doesn’t give them a quality start they really don’t stand a chance.

Take the A’s as they grab the road win.

The Duke's Sports

Baltimore (-117) for 2.5 Units

The Orioles finally got a little taste of winning - on a two game run. And with winning momentum comes confidence. A few of the Orioles are starting to hit the ball and should get the best of Justin Masterson, who sports a bloated 5.23 ERA and is winless this season. Moreover, the Indians are a mere 3-13 in Masterson's last 16 starts. The Orioles, however, have won 5 of their last 6 at Camden Yards and are 8-1 at home vs a team with a losing record. We'll look for former Indian - Jeremy Guthrie to notch his second straight win. Guthrie is 4-1 in his last 5 vs the American League Central.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS -116

For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the home side:

Rich Harden heads to the mound for the Rangers; he got a no decision last time out against the Royals; he's 2-1 on the year and is averaging just over five innings a start; he's walked 25 batters leading to his WHIP of 1.51.

He's 0-3 with a 4.54 ERA lifetime vs. the Jays.

In the other dugout: Brett Cecil gets the nod for Toronto; Cecil allowed three runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings Saturday and took the defeat at the hands of the White Sox.

He had pitched superbly though before coming into that contest; he's 2-2 with a very respectable 3.12 ERA on the year.

Bottom line: Harden has never beaten the Jays and is 0-2 with a 10.61 ERA in two outings North of the border.

Toronto will be hungry for a victory after losing two three at Boston; *6* ABSOLUTE ANNIHILATION on the BLUE JAYS!

CHICAGO WHITE SOX -130

The Royals dumped their manager yesterday believing he was the reason they’re off to a 12-23 start. I guess the win yesterday couldn’t say his job. Yost gets the job and it won’t be a good start for him tonight as his Royals face Buehrle who is 20-8 with a 3.55 ERA in his career against KC. The White Sox lefty looked good in his last start going eight innings and allowing only three earned runs. KC marches out Meche and the only place he should be pitching based on his performances so far this season is in AAA. The Royals have yet to win in any of his six starts and it’s because he can’t get anybody out posting an 8.24 ERA. It’s even worse here at home at 11.37. The White Sox are $130 tonight and that’s just the right price to back Buehrle who has a 15-4 team start record when pitching as a favorite of $150 or less over the past two seasons. It’s all Chicago tonight. Play on Chicago White Sox.
