Since I'm new here, a little background.
I hate the word system, I use methods. I use math.
I play percentages based on league-wide situations that have proven profitable for me in the past.

I can go days without any plays, then get 3-4 on the same day.

Mr. NASCAR is just my NASCAR column pen name/alter ego, I do bet on other sports. When I invest, 99% of my wagers are of the exact same dollar amount.
For example, it's July, the 7th month of the year, and last week I made my first 2 unit play since January, and it was a golf matchup. I have not made a single 2 unit play in baseball yet this season, but hope to have a few spots to do so in the second half.

My bet size does vary, with different sizes for each sport, based on my past success with that sport. (My standard golf wager is much smaller than my NBA for example, which is smaller than my MLB, etc.)

Today, only one game fits anything I use.
I bought Cle/Sea Un 8, +100.
This is from play number Six, 9-5 on the season.

My week starts Monday, ends Sunday. Though not posted here, in case anyone wonders how I'm running this week, I'm 2-2, -.7

I may buy Texas later, but it will not be a normal type play for me, as most are from the seven methods I adhere to. If I buy it, I'll post to say I did.

Good luck with your play today.

Mr Nascar, thanks for your candor. You and I did not get off on the right foot, but we do share similar disdain for a certain poser. Im glad to hear that Golf is something you make plays on. I am a big follower of the Game and make plays on Majors mainly. Golf is one sport where you know the players aren't monkeying around, or the starters are only pitching 6 innings..etc. Any picks you might care to share would be appreciated and I would offer them as well.

Well, if you bet Cle Under today you're REALLY going to like me now!
They yanked Bedard after only 3 innings and 2 runs??!!
Wasn't counting on that.

Not sure what situation you refer to, a past skirmish here I guess, no biggie,
I don't recall it and the past belongs in the past anyway so we move on,
thank you for replying.

I stopped by to post a game I will buy tonight, for Sunday, in case I don't make it back in tomorrow (but will try to get my NASCAR column here if I can.) So far, only one game qualifies as a play for me, situation number one (and for good reason): TB/Tor under.

As for golf, how good am I?
In the Open I used Poulter over Kayman.
Of 154 players, only 4 had worse scores than my man!
But, I did a rare 2 unit play on Stenson over Ogilvy so I came out of the tournament with a half unit profit.
(I swear I looked for 'Tiger to not make the cut' but couldn't find it; I also warned players, and I think it's on videotape for any who think this is after the fact, "Don't take Tiger!!! And then listed 4 reasons why he wouldn't be top 5.)

Golf is actually the only sport I am in the minus for '09, but not much.
I hope to have a play in the Buick.
And I am an avowed Tiger hunter, not so much for his legendary cheapness (which has been confirmed by some I know in the service industry who exist on tips, except when it's Tiger doing the tipping) but because of the relentless media coverage.
Example - TWO days after he was cut from the Open, ESPN's on-site reporter, Wojo-something-ski, started his Sunday morning report with Tiger, and ended it with Tiger, when the story was clearly Watson.
On Monday his report was about "Tiger - I haven't abandonded you."
On Wed "Eight reasons why Tiger is still the best."
I couldn't take it anymore, so I e-mailed the guy, informing him of the bad news, "You do know Tiger is straight, don't you?"

He either wisely chose to ignore me or is too depressed to reply.

I'll post any Buick plays I make.

Unfortunately, Cle/Sea also fits the same spot I mentioned in the post above.
Cleve is ripping the ball, and the number is crap at a snowman and a hook,
but it fits, so I bought Un 8' -105.
TB/Tor number is 9 Un -120.

And, same spot as the game I missed with yesterday (9-6 now)is active in SD/Wash,
I bought Un 8' even.

And one more spot in play, St L/Phil Un 10 even.

NASCAR will be in that forum.

Luck with your play today.

Split yesterday with MLB, dropped .05 in juice.
And I apologize - I said I'd get back with race buys but was unable to.
Here was my NASCAR card:

Mr. NASCAR posted a PUBit
Forgot weekly Jr. sucks pick. Only 2 choices, neither against anyone good, but I'll try Harvick over the little dick. All bets $100 based

Mr. NASCAR posted a PUBit
In what is sure to be a boring, unwatchable race, I'm co-piloting Smoke Stewart -145 over Cheater Boy Gordon today and KK -125 over Pablo
• Posted 20 hours ago

Service provider problems limited 'net access yesterday morning.
I will get them in here next race.

Last week dropped -1.75 in MLB, but NASCAR paid +3.2 so a good week (anything above the red line is a good week.)

Nothing fits MLB for me today.
Back with my next buy.
Good luck with your play today.

New week, let's get it started.
I bought two today, Yanks & Rays under 9 -120,
and Nationals & Brewers under 10 1/2 -105.
Yanks & Rays are in my best situational play.

And in the bottom of the ninth in Milwaukee . . .

1-1 yesterday, -.05 week.

Today, Hou/Chi fits best situational play of the season.
This play moved to 44-16 with NY/TB win yesterday (no, I haven't played them all, I jumped on around game number 25) but it's only 5-5 on mid-week day games. Last of these was July 9, Tor/TB, which won to get it to .500
For some reason, TB has appeared in approx 15 of the 60 plays, and does very well in this situation. Cubs were in this spot once, on 5/26, but it was rained out. Houston was in it once as a home team, 4/26, and the play lost, and once as a road team, 5/14, for a win.
Don't like the way Cooper left Wright in last night after 1 hit and FIVE walks,
and don't like the day time, weekday record, but the overall numbers say play it every time, so I'll take under 9 flat.

44-16 is sad?
What planet are you from?

I posted a warning that it was a lousy 5-5 mid-week/day games,
this loss was not unexpected.

And what did I say about Cooper?
EIGHT frigging runs, TWO home runs, FOUR walks, in just over three innings,
and he still leaves Hampton in.

Now NINE runs in, another single, another walk, and . . . Hampton is still pitching!

Who leaves a guy in after giving up nine runs??!!

Anyone who watched last night's game can back me up on this:
after walking FIVE batters in the same inning, after 6-3 Houston became 6-5,
one of the announcers said right after the fifth walk "This is bizarre, not only is Cecil not coming out to get him, he doesn't even have anyone warming up in the bullpen."

I haven't seen more than 1-2 Astro games, but from what I've seen Cooper doesn't seem to understand the object is to try and prevent the other team from scoring.

As for the situation, it has made a few people a lot of money this season, as the plays have been public, on the net, since game 25 of 61.
You want to fade them - go right ahead.

And this is the worst part of the game, the tease, bottom 7 now and hanging by a thread that you know will be cut before 9 full.
JUST SCORE THE NEXT RUN ALREADY DAMNIT!
And when they do - FUCK Cooper for letting his starter give up 9 and take away any chance of a winner . . .

I think you misinterpreted my message. I was not in reference to the actually #'s that dictated the play but rather the situation as it stood after 1 inning. I backed your play!

Well, ain't I the a-hole.

The problem with the 'net, well, ONE of the problems, is there are so many momma's-basement-dwelling-lifeless-git-troglodytes out there that you almost expect them to take cheap shots while hiding behind their kybrd, so you react unnaturally as opposed to if it was a real life situation.
I forgot their are normal guys out there, too
(in my defense, we ARE outnumbered though. Or maybe I've just been reading too much in the turd-laden sewer sites such as . . . well, we all know who they are.

The other problem with the 'net is there are so many guys out there that are full of shit that when someone has solid numbers, and is honest about them, posters tend to think "BS!"

Anyway, my apology.
And I owe you one.
Now, let's try and get that unit back.

The play from yesterday was 44-16, and I have been using it since about game #25, and sharing them since a few games after that. Yesterday, we bought an under in a game where we got a shutout and STILL didn't bank a unit.
But the weekday daytime record sucks (5-6 now) and Cecil, well, I don't 'cap for any manager to leave a starter in for 6 runs.
Or 7.
Certainly not 8.
Definitely not 9, and still pitching.

I'll update this post after I cap the games.
For the second half of the season I am tracking and buying only seven spots,
the seven most profitable from the first half, three of which have been solid for 3-4 years now, the other four are new ones I developed this season.
I think I have at least two spots active today.
1-2, -1.05 week.

Very gracious of you, thank you.

Sorry, not sure I can make it up today, short card and only one spot active for me. It's 8-2 this season (if you like doing stat work I'll send you the parameters via the moderators; would take you about 20 minutes to verify the record and this way
a) posters would know my #'s are real
and
b) you could watch for it yourself, in case I'm not in;
some people like picks, some like to 'cap for themselves; if you want it let me know)

Last spot was a loss with the Cubs team total on Tuesday.
Today it's a play on the St Louis team total under.
Not all lines are up yet, so far I see 4' -125 and 4 +100.
I don't like Kuroda so I'll probably not lay extra juice for the hook at 4'.
I'll wait to buy until later in the day, see what I can get then.

As for the spot we missed with yesterday, there won't be a play tomorrow,
(I can tell by the schedule) but hopefully we'll get one or two on Sat or Sun.
I will make time to get in here with it when I see one.
