The Boston Red Sox will host the Texas Rangers this evening at Fenway in what should be an easy victory for the 10-7 Sox. John Lester will be on the mound tonight and he is 1-2 with a 5.31 ERA. In his last three outings he has given up 4 runs, 7 runs and 0 runs in those apperances. The Red Sox are the Far superior team in this match up and they tend to play lights out in Fenway. Take the Red Sox to win this game easily against a Texas team that is struggling to win.

When Wandy is at home, this play is nearly an automatic play for me. I have followed him as a pitcher for every ballgame the last 3 years and his splits are simply remarkable at home as compared to on the road. At home, this cat simply pitches one gem after another. On the road, he struggles as he has done in the 3 ballgames he has pitched in this year. He pitched splendid against 2 copmetent offenses against the Cards and Marlins this year along giving up a total of 8 hits and 1 run in 14 innings and the Astros went on to win both ballgames. Look for Wand to help the Stros', to pick up win #7, his 3rd win in Houston this year, the Rockies pummeled this team 13-5 so the Astros are looking for revenge, they are not the greatest offense in the world, but Cook has been very hittable on the road this year and I look for the Stros' to have enough of a competency to put up 5 runs and win in a 5-2 fashion today. Rockies are 0-4 when Cook faces the NL Central and the Astros are 13-3 when Wandy pitches at home.

I like the Under in the Mavs/Hornets game for several reasons, first of all, don't forget that the Mavs beat this team at home by double-digits last time they played them, do you remember that game? I had the Mavs as one of my selections in the 4-1 day just 2 days ago. Here are some key trends that you should look at - the home team has covered this ballgame the last 4 times these 2 teams have played. For that reason alone, even though I think Dallas covers the first half, I am not taking a side here. After all, just take a look at the Wizards game, they covered throughout the game until the 4th quarter where the home team took over - I can see that happening with the Hornets, heck, this was the same team that was losing by a +22 cover to the Clippers going into the 2nd half and ended up covering the half and the game outscoring the Clippers by nearly 30 points in the second half. The Mavs understand that they do not have home court advantage and they have to sneak a game out of here, after all, they have to attack this Hornets team who has no playoff experience early, before they get more and more confidence. Jason Kidd understands that he needs to slow this game down and give his team the best option for the most selective of shots and to limit the turnovers, I expect Chris Paul to do the same here as well. The Majority of the public is riding this over, but look for this game to go under as I favor the Mavs and more importantly, when the Mavs have covered, the game has gone under, and for that reason, I like the under here as well as for the reasons mentioned above. The under is 5-0 for the Hornets when they play teams with a winning % greater than 60% - meaning that the under is favored by the Hornets because they tighten up against winning teams and they cannot score as effectively against the better teams in the league. The Under is 8-2-1 in the last 11 meetings between these 2 ballclubs as well.
Rockets 1st Half Only PK or 1 (I Got PK, but either line works)
I can give you an elaborate explanation on this play, but the short end of the story is this, the Rockets have unbelievable revenge against this Jazz team, I see the Jazz coming back in the second half to make this is a game, Houston will be rocking, lots of emotion going into this ballgame, the Jazz typically struggle with turnovers early as Huey Brown mentioned the other night when they played the Spurs on the road (also see the Timberwolves game from earlier this year), but more importantly, plenty of Revenge and emotion for this Houston team, I don't trust them for the game, but I do trust them to pull out the first half win here to start off hot and let their focus and revenge carry them early.
