Mr East

Game: Detroit Tigers @ Seattle Mariners
Pick: Detroit Tigers -136 4 units

Armando Galarraga has been the Tigers most consistent pitcher all season, and they have now emerged victorious in 11 of his 14 starts, which includes 4-0 on the road vs teams with a losing record. The Tigers are finally playing the kind of baseball most expected at the beginning of the season, and have been 19-7 over their last 26 games. Seattle has gotten nothing going all year. R.A. Dickey has been converted to a starter, with not much luck, as the M's have been just 1-4 in his 5 starts. We like the Tigers to keep playing well, and come away with the win here.

TOR (+115) vs ANA 1* ML WAGER

CWS / OAK Over 8.5 2* TOTAL

ATL -1.5 (+125) vs HOU 2* RL WAGER **UPGRADED**

NASCAR for SATURDAY

TONY STEWART +500 2*
You can find this anywhere from a low of +400, to a high of +600, so I used the average for grading...Stewart let us down 2 weeks ago, but Gibbs Toyota's showed they have surpassed even Chevy in the plate races...And this time of the year, you can expect to see "Smoke" get his win for Gibbs and there is no better place to do it than where he has shown to be able to get the win...so rather than split up the 2*s, lets go ahead and back Stewart to get his 1st win tonight at Daytona

BOXING on SHOWTIME for SATURDAY

RICARDO TORRES +230 1*
Torres beat Holt the first time they met in Columbia, knocking him out in the 10th, while behind on 2 of the score-cards...Since then, Holt has been crying about how that fight went down and the press and public has eaten it up which is why he is installed at the favorite...Torres was willing to make this fight happen in Holt's country even though he didn't have to and history has shown that it is extremely hard for a fighter who got knocked-out to come back and win the re-match...Bottom line, too much value to pass up on Torres who dropped Cotto and if he is able to put the pressure on Holt, he should be able to do it again, and not let Holt try to win by decision which is what he will be looking to do by boxing...Look for Torres to cut-off the ring now that he knows what's coming

AFL PLAYOFFS for SATURDAY

Bobby Williams

Toronto Blue Jays vs. LAA Angels
Pick: LAA Angels

BW has the utmost respect for Toronto's pitcher Roy Halladay. This guy has to not only almost go the distance every night, but find a way to generate some offense from the 9th batting spot. He is 9-6, 2.95 ERA, with a 1.04 WHIP, but is 5-4 2.43 on the road, and has been really strong in last 4 road outings. Unfortunately he has to hold the opponent to 3 runs or less, because the Blue Jays only average barely 4. Angels send John Lackey to the mound, probably one of the few with better stats than Halladay. Lackey is 6-1, 1.44 ERA, .89 WHIP. holds opponents to a .201 average, and is 2-0 at home with 1.50 ERA. In his last three home games he has averaged just short of 8 innings and only 4 earned runs. Angels are strong at home and Blue Jays are 19-26 on the road. Take LA ANGELS as small fav and win Sat!

TAMPA BAY DEVIL RAYS (Sonnanstine)-140 over Kansas City Royals (Greinke)

The Rays are an incredible 33-13 at home and another win last night keeps Tampa Bay on top of the AL East and with the best record in baseball. Tampa has won eight of the last nine games and great pitching and timely hitting continue to lead to great results for the Rays.

The Rays have won six consecutive Andy Sonnanstine starts and he has allowed three runs or fewer in seven consecutive outings. Tampa Bay is 13-4 in his starts this season and his numbers have been getting better and better as the season has progresses. The Rays also own one of the top bullpens in baseball with great first-half numbers.

Zack Greinke has excellent numbers at home this season but on the road he has a much higher ERA and the Royals have a losing record in his starts. Greinke has allowed 16 hits and eight runs in his past two starts despite KC wins and his 7-4 record is a bit inflated. The home team has won 14 of the last 19 in this series and the Royals continue to post losing numbers away from home. Look for the Rays to keep rolling Saturday.

SouthCoast Sports - 4 units play

Cleveland Indians vs. Minnesota Twins
Pick: Minnesota Twins Southcoast Sports MLB Game of the Week!

Minnesota has won 11 of their last 13 home games, and will be starting one of the hottest pitchers in the Majors on Saturday night. Just who is Kevin Slowey? He is the pitcher that has allowed 2 earned runs over his last two starts, and only 3 earned runs over his last 4 outings. He accumulated these numbers against National League teams in Interleague play. That's right, his last 4 starts have all been against National League teams. One must assume that his confidence will be at an all time high going against a Cleveland team that has lost 6 straight. Slowey will be opposed by Aaron Laffey. Laffey has decent numbers of late, but upon further observation, I noticed that he has pitched at home 8 times vs only 4 times on the road. The results? Laffey has a 5.47 Era when traveling and totes a high whip of 1.58, which may suggest he doesn't feel comfortable on opposing teams pitching mounds. Laffey is only 1-3 in those 4 road starts, and will be facing a very hot Minnesota team tonight. If he gets into any form of trouble, our selection on Minnesota looks even better, as the Cleveland bullpen has a 6.75 Era over its last 3 games, and a lofty 5.00 Era on the season. Minnesota doesn't hit lefties as well as righties, but they are hitting .299 against lefties over their last 5 games, while Cleveland is hitting .257 against righties over their last 5. Last but not least! The Indians are 1-7 the last 8 times Jim Joyce has been behind the plate at Indians games. Take the Minnesota Twins -130 for 4-Units!
