Packers/49ers Over 35
I'm releasing this play a bit late, so a little shorter on the analysis, but the Packers lost at home 17-20 to the Bengals and that does not sit well with their fans likely despite it being the first preseason game of the season as Rodgers will be under a microscope, I expect him to play much better today, note that this San Fran team only put up 6 pionts in their last ballgame on the road and one has to think they put up more points at home tonight as Smith looks to fight for his starting job so he is likely to play well, Rodgers is likely to play better than he did last time as the Packers look for the win, this has the makings of an active dog today and the line movements goes to show that as well which fits into my active dog/over principle. Thus, I think this agme is likely a 24-20 type of ballgame with San Fran possibly winning outright, but more importantly, I think this game goes over.

Chicago/ SEATTLE Over 35
The Over is 10-2 in the last 12 Bears games with an OU of 32.5 to 35, while the Over is 8-2 when Seattle faces the NFC North. Those are preseason trends. Both offenses looked great in their openers as the Bears put up 362 yards and 20 points vs KC, while Seattle put up 419 yard and 34 points vs a tough Minnesota defense. Orton and Grossman are in a battle for the starting QB position and you can expect both to have solid games. Rex will work with the 1st team offense possibly into the 2nd half, before giving way to Kyle Orton. Both played good in the 1st game, but 3rd striger Caleb Hanie acctually had better numbers than the other 2 so look for some 4th quarter points from him. Those QB's will also be going up against a thin Seattle secondary. The Seattle offense will be with out Matt Hasselbeck in this one, so Charlie Frye will get the nod. Charlie took all the snaps in practice with the 1st team offense and he is ready for a good game. After Charlie, Senaca Wallace will go and he had a good game in the opener, throwing for 165 yards and 3 TDs. This should be a fun one with plenty of points and an easy win on the Over.

Washington +3 over NY JETS
Brett, Brett , Brett. That's what this game is all about for the Jets, but the reality is that he will only take about 8 to 12 snaps in this one and after that the talent level drops. Brent Ratliff has siolid for the Jets so far, with a 145.8 passer rating vs Cleveland last week, but he will be facing a much tougher test this week vs a Redskins defense that has been solid so far. After Brent we have Kellen Clemmons, who has not looked all that well and Erik Ainge (rookie), who did not play in the opener. This is the third tuneup game for the Skins and they have played very well in the first 2 vs the Colts and Bills. The Skins will start Jason Cambell in this one and he has been good, with a 125.6 passer rating through two games. He will be followed by Todd Collins and Derek Devine, but I'm mostly excited about the fact that Colt Brennan and his 136.3 passer rating will play the all impoertant 4th quarter and in what should be a close game I'll look for him to pull it out in the end. As I stated above, the early part of the game will be all about Brett and once he leaves you can expect the emotional level of the Jets and their fans to drop a bit and that's when the Skins will take over, plus haveing a 4th quarter QB matchup of Ainge vs Brennan does hurt. Skins win outright late.

San Diego +3 over ST LOUIS
The Chargers may be the most complete team in the NFL and many of their backups could be starters on onther teams. The Rams where pounded for 340 yards rushing last week and yes I know that there will be no LT in this one, but their backups still put up 116 yards rushing vs a tough Dallas defense last week. The Rams just don't have the starters or backups to stay with San Diego in this one as I feel the wrong team is favored here. The Charger beat the Rams 30-13 in the preseason last year and while I expect them to win again I don't think it will be that easy. On more quick note, because I haven't dicussed football that much so far I will let you all know that the Chargers are my fav team. I won't pick them that much this year, but I hope that when I do I will have the same success as with the Phils. Go Bolts.
