NFL Preseason Football
Rams -3 over Chargers
The Rams looked brutal last week in their embarrassing loss to the Titans. This week the focus will be on winning while the Chargers will be focused on playing their backups and getting off the turf which could cause major injuries. San Diego has such a deep team that the starters will barley play tonight. With St. Louis being favored everyone is on the Chargers just by judging last weeks performance. Take St. Louis at home.

Angels /Indians

Play: 2 * Angels -140 (POD)

Today I look for the Angels to put an end to this mini 2 game losing streak that they are on .John Lackey gets the call for the Angels going up against Fausto Carmona for the Tribe .Lackeys been great this season and oddly enough he has done some of his best work on the road .Inside his terrific (9-2) record is a (5-1) Road mark and an ERA under 2.5 . As far as Carmona is concerned he is (4-3) at Home with a 5.44 ERA .The most alarming stat in his road starts is the amount of walks to Strrikeouts .He has walked 6 more batters than he has struck out on the Road and for the season 51 BB to only 35 SO . , and against a potent offense like the Angels that is a recipe for disaster .Today the Angels even the series behind Lackey .

5-Unit Play. Take #969 Los Angeles Angels (-160) over Cleveland
1-Unit Play. Take #969 Los Angeles Angels (-1.5, +105) over Cleveland
3-Take ‘Under’ 8.5 Los Angeles Angels at Cleveland
Note: Play this game as ‘Action’.

The line movement on this is pretty ridiculous. As of about 4 a.m. EST this line was L.A. -140. Now this morning it is -160…and climbing. That’s awful. Well, instead of just throwing 6 Units on the moneyline I thought I would limit our exposure and go with a -1 run line and look for a big Angels win.

John Lackey has a 0.99 ERA in four starts in Cleveland, going an average of seven innings. He is pitching with two days extra rest and the Halos are 5-1 in his last six starts five or more days off. Fausto Carmona is on the hill for Cleveland and he is exceptional in day games, which will help our ‘under’. And he’s been solid against the Angels. However, he hasn’t been the same since he’s come back from a hip injury. He has given up at least four runs in four of his last five starts and has a woeful 10.42 ERA in his four starts since coming off the D.L. He’s simply not the same guy. The Angels are 9-4 in their last 13 road games and after a loss yesterday I expect a bounceback. This is a nationally televised game so L.A. should play with a bit more juice as well. They have much, much better hitting and pitching numbers than Cleveland in day games this year and are a much more talented team. We’ll back Lackey, who has been exceptional, and the better lineup as the Angels even the series.

3-Unit Play. Take #966 Los Angeles Dodgers (-140) over Milwaukee
Dave Bush is 2-6 with a 6.08 on the road this year, while D-Lowe has a 2.83 home ERA and a 1.80 in his last five home starts. This is a big game between playoff competitors, and in a big game I'm going with Lowe. D-Lowe is 74-47 at home in his career, while Bush is 14-26 in his career on the road.

3-Unit Play. Take #964 Florida (-105) over Chicago Cubs

1-Unit Play. Take #978 Texas (+115) over Tampa Bay

1.5-Unit Play. Take #979 Chicago White Sox (-140) over Oakland

1.5-Unit Play. Take #951 Philadelphia (-140) over San Diego

Today's Totals

3-Take ‘Over’ 9.5 (+110) New York Mets at Pittsburgh
1.5-Take ‘Over’ 8.5 Seattle at Minnesota
1.5-Take ‘Under’ 8.5 Philadelphia at San Diego
1-Take ‘Over’ 9.0 San Francisco at Atlanta

PRO INFO SPORTS

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Prediction: LA Dodgers -136

Grade: ONE-Star (rated 1 to 6 units)

The Dodgers are playing host to the Milwaukee Brewers for a weekend series and took game one on Friday night with a 5 to 3 win. That win by the Dodgers extended their current winning streak to five games.

Both of these teams will be looking to improve their playoff chances as they do battle tonight. Each starterʼs record is below .500 on the season but the Dodgers Lowe has pitched well at home while Bush has struggled on the road with the exception of a win over Cincinnati on August 5th.

The Dodgers are 7-2 their last 9 overall and 12-3 at home including a perfect 7-0 their last 7. LA is 42-20 in their last 62 against the Brewers, 4-1 this year and 21-8 their last 29 when these two get together at Dodger Stadium including 11-3 the last 14.

The Brewers have struggled when Bush takes the hill on the highway posting a record of 2-6 and his ERA is 6.19 in ten road appearances. The Brewers are 8-22 their last 30 overall on the road.

Lowe is 2-1 with a 3.82 ERA in seven career appearances versus the Brewers, including a no-decision on May 18 in Milwaukee, where he allowed four runs on six hits in six innings as L.A. got the win 6 to 4. Bush faced the Dodgers twice back in 2006, going 1-1 with a 4.72 ERA, losing a 10 to 2 decision in the one start in Los Angeles.

Our Pitcher Power Index Ratings have Lowe only allowing the Brewers to plate 3.1 runs while Bush gets tagged for 5.9 runs in tonightʼs contest. Our Team Power Index Ratings have the Dodgers extending their winning streak to 6 games with a win tonight by a final score of 7 to 3.

GRADED PREDICTION: 1* LOS ANGELES DODGERS -136
