GAME: Houston Rockets @ Denver Nuggets
PICK: Denver Nuggets

I see a lot of so-called 'sharp bettors' jumping all over the Houston Rockets tonight, and while I can understand the logic behind that pick, I just can't agree with it.

The Rockets got their big win on Friday night. My clients and I enjoyed a big 5* win in that game as they cruised past the Phoenix Suns. Tonight I see a much different story unfolding. With Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier both banged up, I just don't see the Rockets going out of their way to push the envelope here in Denver. That's not to say they'll lay down, but don't count on a 100% effort out of Rick Adelman's team.

The Nuggets essentially shut things down at the start of the fourth quarter last night in Utah. It was a game they had in their grasp until the Jazz went on a big run late in the third frame to seal the deal. So now the Nuggets find themselves back in an eighth place tie in the Western Conference standings. Obviously they have all the motivation in the world to come up wtih a big performance on Sunday night. Contrary to popular belief, I do think they have it in them.

Every game is do-or-die for the Denver Nuggets at this point. They failed me last night, but there's no question, they're a much better team at home, where they're 24-15 ATS this season. Let's roll the dice again.

LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR)

FLORIDA vs HOUSTON
Play: HOUSTON ASTROS -135

Badenhhop is awful. He's getting called up from the minors. Marlins had a chance to start him earlier but he hasn't met expectations which sent their rotation into a tail spin. Bottom line here is Florida can hit the ball but their pitching needs help. League leading HR hitter Mike Jacobs will be out for the Marlins losing a quality bat to score. Take Houston minus the moderate ml

COLORADO vs ARIZONA
Play: ARIZONA -120

We might be pushing our luck here going for another sweep of Colorado but Arizona has flat out dominated the Rockies. Now don't shy away from this one just yet. We are sure you are going to hear some great things about Aaron Cook against Arizona but lets dig deeper. Cook is 4-3 when starting against ARI with an ERA of 4.78 and a WHIP of 1.417. Something to note here as Cook is 5-16 TSR in day games. Seems Like Cook doesn't like the sunlight. He's not pitching badly but he is 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA in two starts this season. It's a complete 180 when dealing with Gonzalez. He is 0-2 when starting against COL. with an ERA of 9.75 and a WHIP of 2.083. That was then, this is now. Rewind to his last start this season against Colorado and we see Gonzalez allowed one run in five innings pitched. One bad game against the Rockies last year. One great game against the Rockies this year. As bettors, we are firm believers in the "What have you done for me lately" way of thinking." Take Arizona to complete the sweep.
