San Diego Padres (8-10) at Arizona Diamondbacks (13-4)
(L) Randy Wolf (1-0) vs. (L) Randy Johnson (0-0)
San Diego has lost four straight and hope southpaw Randy Wolf will put an end to their slump. Wolf has pitched sound thus far this year and is 5-2 with a 4.11 ERA in 10 career starts against Arizona. The Padres continue to struggle at the plate, averaging just 2.9 runs per game, definitely a big problem facing the highest scoring team in the league. Arizona is 5-1 in the last six meetings against San Diego, 4-1 in its last 5 at home and assaulted them in the last two meetings. The Diamondbacks will counter with Randy Johnson. The southpaw is 14-4 with a 2.34 ERA in 23 career outings against the Padres. Go with the Diamondbacks to trounce the Padres again. San Diego's bullpen is lifeless.

Toronto Raptors @ Orlando Magic Under 197
Now, the Orlando Magic and the Toronto Raptors both averaged over 100 points per game this season, so the knee-jerk reaction would be to look for the Over here. However, the more recent play of both teams suggests otherwise.
The Magic closed the year by going Under in eight of their last nine games. The offense still performed at a high level during this streak averaging 103.9 points, but Orlando clamped down defensively, allowing just 91.9 points per game. Moreover, they held five of those nine opponents under 90 points! As if that is not enough, the Magic also held these Raptors to 87 points when these teams last met last month.
As for Toronto, the Under is 6-2 in their last eight road games, with their offense putting up just an average of 94.6 points in those games. In fact, the Raptors scoring average dipped below 100 on the road for the whole season, as they averaged 98.2 points on the NBA highways as opposed to 102.1 points back in Canada.
Finally, do not forget that these are two young teams with little playoff experience, so some first game jitters are to be expected.
Pick: Raptors, Magic Under 197
Colorado Rockies 105
The Colorado Rockies had problems when visiting the Houston Astros in the past, but they have taken the first two games of this series and could further exorcise some demons by completing the sweep here.
The Astros had taken 20 of the last 24 head-to-head meetings here in Houston before this series began, but the Rockies won the first game 11-5 despite playing deep into the night in San Diego the day before, and they then won a 3-2 pitchers’ duel yesterday. Their starter Ubaldo Jimenez has more ability than he has shown so far, and he could have a break-out start here vs. an Astros team that is batting just .221 vs. right-handed pitching this season and have never faced him before.
The Rockies are also very familiar with Houston starter Shawn Chacon, who came up through the Colorado system. Now, Chacon has actually pieced together three straight Quality Starts, but he has shown glimpses of brilliance in the past, only to eventually implode and disappoint his backers. This seems like a nice spot for that to happen, vs. his former teammates that are averaging 6.00 runs per game in the last 10 games.
Finally, the Rockies have had a huge edge in the bullpen so far, with a collective pen ERA of 2.44 and WHIP of 1.07 in 55.1 innings, compared to a lofty 4.77 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 60.1 innings for the Houston bullpen.
Pick: Rockies +105
BEN BURNS
San Jose Sharks @ Calgary Flames
PICK: Under
REASON FOR PICK: Game 5 proved to be high-scoring with the Sharks winning by a score of 4-3. Three of the previous four games produced five combined goals or less, including a 2-0 score in the first here at Calgary. Note that Thursday's game could have also easily been lower-scoring as the teams were scoreless at the end of the first period. With the Flames facing elimination, I'm expecting another low-scoring affair this evening.
While San Jose has seen the 'under' go 5-2-2 the last nine times it was leading in a playoff series, Calgary has seen the 'under' go a perfect 4-0 the last four times it was trailing in a playoff series. The Flames have also seen the 'under' go 33-18-3 the last 54 times they played with two day's rest in between games and 57-35-14, durng the same stretch, when facing an opponent which defeated them in the previous meeting. Excluding games which landed right on the number, the Sharks have seen the 'under' go a highly profitable 151-98 (60.6%) the past 10+ years when coming off a game in which they scored four or more goals. I expect those numbers to improve
