Oddsmakers currently have the Spurs listed as 5½-point favorites versus the Hornets, while the game's total is sitting at 186. The Spurs covered the 7-point spread, while the combined 209 points sailed OVER the posted total of 183. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili each had 31 points to pace the Spurs. MLB

Arizona Diamondbacks (23-14) at Chicago Cubs (21-15)

The hot Chicago Cubs have won eight of their last ten games and will send their ace Carlos Zambrano to the hill. The right-hander is 5-1 with a 1.80 ERA this season and is 1-2 with a 4.20 ERA in five career starts against the Diamondbacks. The Cubs at home with Zambrano on the mound is tough to go against. But, the Diamondbacks will counter with Randy Johnson. The lefty is 2-1 with a 5.06 ERA this year. Johnson has overwhelmed the Cubs in 13 career starts, 12-0 with a 1.98 ERA, including going 4-0 with a 1.00 ERA in five starts at Wrigley field. Take the Diamondbacks with the veteran Johnson at the wheel. Arizona has won the southpaw's last 10 starts versus the Cubs.

Arizona Diamondbacks - +135

MLB FREE B'S FOR SUNDAY

AL FREE B's for MOTHER'S DAY:

ORIOLES +125 on ML over Royals--KC has lost 12 straight to the Orioles. KC's 6-12 home mark is the worst in the majors. Burres over Bannister here

OAKLAND -125 on ML over Rangers--Harden beats Sid Ponson in Arlington. Harden's ERA is under 1 and he's 5-2 career vs Texas. The Rangers hot streak cools off today after winning 9 of 11. The A's hold on to first place in the AL West

White Sox -120 on ML over Mariners--Take Gavin Floyd over Seattle. The guy has been lights out lately. He threw a one-hitter his last start. His ERA is 2.50. Seattle's lost 5 straight and 10 of 11 (they officially suck)

NL FREE B's for MOTHER'S DAY:

Brewers -125 on ML over Cardinals--Milwaukee gets by the Cards, who had dropped three straight until winning on Saturday. Suppan beats Looper today. I'll TAKE THE OVER 9 RUNS

ARIZONA +140 on ML over Cubs--Big Unit Randy Johnson stuns Wrigley and (5-1) Zambrano, beating the Chicago ace on the North Side. Johnson is 12-0 career vs the Cubs. Enough said !

Rockies +125 on ML over Padres--The Padres have won only five of their last 23 games and have the worst record in the majors. They won on Saturday behind Greg Madduz and I called it correctly on the moneyline. They go right back to losing Sunday ! Reynolds over Young at Petco

MLB LOCKS FOR SUNDAY

AMERICAN LEAGUE LOCKS FOR SUNDAY :

YANKEES -105 on ML over Tigers--Pettitte beats Robertson in Motown. Robertson has been dreadful for Detroit this year. He's 1-4 with a 6.64 ERA and is 2-5 career vs the Yanks.

Indians -130 on ML over Blue Jays--Carmona beats Burnett at the Jake. Carmona's ERA is 2.95 and they are going for sweep in the series after they pounded the Jays 12-0 on Saturday

ANGELS -115 on ML over Rays--Santana goes to an amazing 7-0 with the win in St.Pete. Sonanstine has been brilliant for the Rays too. TAKE THE UNDER 8 RUNS. Santana with a 1.23 ERA and 3-0 in last 3 starts.

RED SOX -125 on ML over Twins--Wakefield owns Minnesota with a 13-4 career record against them. His ERA has been dropping nicely in his last 3 starts to 2.57. Overall, Wakefield is at 3.33 ERA and has a 3-1 record.

NATIONAL LEAGUE LOCKS FOR SUNDAY:

METS -125 on ML over Reds--NY gets the final game of series at Shea behind Oliver Perez, who's been aweful lately. Problem is, Cueto has been worse for Cincy. His ERA is over 9 in his last 3 starts. Perez gets back to normal for New York with a much needed win. Otherwise, they'll be booing him all day in Queens. I say he wins and K's 8. TAKE THE OVER 9 RUNS

BRAVES -135 on ML over Pirates--The Bucs win streak ends at 5. They've been playing great lately but Jurrjens closes that door today at PNC. Thsi guy is tough. He's got a 2.37 ERA in his last 3 starts with 15 K's. Zach Duke gets lit every time out

Marlins +105 on ML over Nationals--Olsen the lefty is 4-1 overall with a nifty 2.22 ERA and even more impressive 1.71 ERA over last 3 starts. He's 5-3 career vs the Nats.

Houston +135 on ML over Dodgers--I'll take Chacon and hope the Astros keep rolling. They've won 7 of 8 and are 20-17 overall and in third place behind the Cards and Cubs in the NL Central. TAKE THE OVER 9 RUNS

PHILLIES -115 on ML over Giants.. San Fran ended a five game skid on Saturday, but they'll start losing again today in the Bay. Eaton over Sanchez. TAKE THE OVER 9 RUNS

WUNDERDOG

Game: New Orleans at San Antonio
Pick: First Half UNDER 95 -110

As we predicted, the Spurs, and their championship pride, shone through in game three as they won by 11 points. It was a high-scoring first half - the highest of the series. But, we think this game more resembles the first two in terms of scoring. In those two games, 94 and 85 points were scored in the first half. The Spurs know they need to play defense here which is their calling card at home. Chris Paul and Tony Parker had career games in game three and both defenses will adjust to slow them down a bit here. Tim Duncan is looking old and just isn't finding his shots. He's averaging just 13 ppg thus far. On the season, the Spurs averaged just 44.8 ppg allowed here in this building. They are 15-7 UNDER in the first-half their last 22 games vs. teams at .600 or better. The Hornets are 28-16 UNDER in the first-half following an OVER this season. They are also 15-4 UNDER in the first-half revenging a double-digit loss. That includes a perfect 10-0 UNDER mark on the road in that situation! Finally, the Hornets are 20-9 UNDER in the first-half this season after a game in which 205+ points were scored. We like a low-scoring, high intensity first-half here.

WUNDERDOG

Game: Cincinnati at New York Mets
Pick: New York Mets -128

The Reds send a rookie in Johnny Cueto to the mound today. He's got a losing record and a 5.27 ERA. He's got heat, but he has been susceptible to giving up runs in bunches. In his road starts he has lasted just 4.7 frames per start yielding five runs per game. Oliver Perez has had a rough go of it lately, but he's more seasoned and is at home. The Mets are 10-6 at home while the Reds are 7-13 on the road. Over the past three seasons, New York is 92-59 to a line of +125 to -125. That includes a 29-15 mark at home. We'll back the Mets on a very reasonable price here.

Larry Ness

New York Yankees @ Detroit Tigers
PICK: New York Yankees

REASON FOR PICK: The Yankees ended a six-game losing streak to the Tigers with a 5-2 victory on Saturday at Detroit. The Yanks will try and win the series this afternoon (Tigers won 6-5 on Friday), as Pettitte takes on Robertson. Pettitte is 3-3 with a 3.77 ERA on the year but has lost his last three. However, he did pitch well in his last outing vs Cleveland (6.1 IP / 5 hits / 2 ERs / 6 Ks and just 1 walk) plus has pitched very well this year on the road. He's 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA in four road starts. While the Yanks are without Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada, they have to like the fact that the Tigers are a major-league worst 3-12 in the daytime games this year and are also an imperfect 0-5 this year in Sunday games. The Yanks will face Detroit lefty Nate Robertson, who has NEVER fulfilled his promise. Robertson is 1-4 with a 6.64 ERA in seven starts in '08 (team is 2-5), allowing 52 hits in 40.2 innings. In four home starts, he's allowed 29 hits and 17 ERs in 24.2 innings (6.20 ERA), going 0-2 (team is 1-3). Robertson did beat the Yanks beat on May 1 (allowed four ERs over 5.2 innings in an 8-4 victory) but he's just 2-6 with a 5.62 ERA in nine career starts against them, including one in the postseason. Take the Yankees.

Ben Burns

Philadelphia Flyers @ Pittsburgh Penguins
PICK: under

REASON FOR PICK: The opening game saw the teams combine for five goals in a wild first period. However, only one goal was score the rest of the way and the final score was 4-2. That result has helped given us some additional value with the 'under' here as we're now getting the 'under 5.5' at a slight underdog price. The Flyers haven't had back to back bad defensive games very often this season as we find the 'under' at 15-6 when they were coming off a game in which they allowed four or more goals. Additionally, despite the Game 1 result, the Penguins have still seen the 'under' go 12-6 on the season when playing a home game with an over/under line of 5.5. Consider a play on the UNDER

Ben Burns had another simply stellar Saturday, including a pair of easy winners (one side, one total) on the hardcourt. On Sunday, this renowned "Totals Expert" is absolutely UNLOADING on his #1 Western Conference Total of the Year. This is THE BIG ONE. Like cashing over/under tickets? Then, don't even consider missing this MONSTER!
