Indian Cowboy

NBA Basketball - Los Angeles Lakers @ Boston Celtics
3 units (Play of the Day) TOTAL: Over 190.5

I believe there is an ebb and flow to a series. The trick is trying to figure out which way that flow's going to go. I took the under in game one because that was how these teams seem to play in the first game of a series, they play a little tighter and the play slows down. In game 2 tonight I see the game going over. In pretty much each of the 2nd games in each of these team's previous playoff series the game has either gone over, or they put up a ton of points but it stayed under because of the defensive stops. I don't think either team will get enough defensive stops to keep the game under tonight. Kobe and Garnett should shoot better and the line has dropped a few points from the first game because of the under in the first game. All that should help the game go over tonight.

MLB Baseball - Chicago Cubs @ Los Angeles Dodgers
3 units (Normal) TOTAL: Over 8.5

What the hell has happened to Brad Penny this year? He has lost 5 of his last 6. He's given up 5 or more earned runs in 4 of those 6 games. This terrible pitching has caused 61% of his starts to go over. On the other side Jason Marquis goes for the Cubs. He has consistently given up 3 or more earned runs per game. He never really gets killed, but he never really throws a gem either. But those three or more runs generally come in about 5, maybe 6 innings as he doesn't go deep into games very often.

Scott Spreitzer's 25* MLB SUNDAY SLAMMER! (Won GS on Sat.!)

I'm laying the price with the Astros on Sunday. Wandy Rodriguez of Houston has been terrific at home throughout his short career. This season, he's been virtually unhittable! Wandy has an ERA of 0.98 in Houston, with a WHIP of 0.93. He faced St. Louis on this field earlier this season, and threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts. Kyle Lohse of St. Louis has struggled on the road. His ERA away from home is 5.18, with a poor WHIP of 1.73. The offenses cancel out here, with both teams scoring a shade over 4.5 runs per game, overall. And, I expect Lohse's struggles to be just what the doc ordered for the Astro bats. That being said, Albert Pujols is battling a bad calf for the Cards. He may even take a seat in a day game after a night game. Whether he does or not, Houston should have an edge on offense in that light, to go with their dominant edge on the mound with Rodriguez. Also note that Houston was 13-4 its prior 17 home games entering the weekend. It all adds up to a potential blowout at a very cheap moneyline. The Astros minus the price is the play.

STU FINER'S 250,000 STAR LOCK OF THE YEAR

250,000 DIME NBA Finals Game 2 Parlay L.A. LAKERS and OVER

The Lakers will not be held to just 15 fourth quarter points like they were in Game 1. Instead, Kobe & Co., will have their triangle offense clicking and they will score this win and cover as it goes over the posted total. Kobe’s 9 for 26 shooting on Thursday night had less to do with the Celtics tough defense and more to do with Kobe having one of those rare off nights. He was getting good looks, the ball just wasn’t going through the hoop for him. That will change this evening. The Lakers will be scoring in bunches tonight and the Celtics will be hard-pressed to keep track. And L.A.’s bench will respond with a much better effort after Sasha Vujacic, Jordan Farmar, Ronny Turiaf and Luke Walton combined for just 15 points on 5-of-15 shooting. Those guys are going to show tonight. L.A. also attempts around 21 three-pointers a game but got off only 14 treys Thursday. They’ll shoot more and make more tonight. L.A. didn’t play well in Game 1, but
still led at the break by five points and had their chances in the fourth. They won’t be as jittery tonight. There are plenty of trends that point to the under, but that’s just giving us good value with the total. The Lakers own four road victories this postseason, so they know how to win on the highway. They don’t want to go down 2-0 in the series and they won’t. Kobe will play like the league MVP that he is and the Lakers will eclipse 100 points in helping this game get over the posted number
