White Sox
We hit our free play yesterday on the White Sox and I will be riding them again today to sweep the cross town rival cubbies! This series is a different story than last week when the Cubs were too much to handle for the White Sox. But the Cubs come in and have simply been struggling of late, partly due to the White Sox! Cubs are 1-4 in their last 5 games overall, and 0-5 in their last 5 road games. They are 1-11 in Marshall's last 12 starts when their opponent allows 5 runs or more and they are 2-12 in ther last 14 games after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game! The White Sox send Buehrle to the mound who is 4-1 in last 5 starts and 5-1 in his last 6 interleague starts! The White Sox are 20-6 in their last 26 Home Games vs a team with a losing road record and 19-7 in their last 26 Home games as a favorite!

Colorado Rockies vs. Detroit Tigers
Play: Detroit Tigers
The Tigers are 22-6 against the money line after six consecutive games versus interleague opponents over the last three seasons.
Scott Rickenbach
PICK on San Diego Padres Money Line (-) vs Seattle
The Padres are a little pricier than I generally like to use a star rated pick but I do see value with them here and so that's why you're finding them in this spot. The pitching edge with Jake Peavy over Erik Bedard coupled with the home field edge makes the Padres well worth the price here in my opinion. Yes, the Mariners have taken the first two games of this series but Seattle came into this series with a 13-26 road record and the Padres were 21-18 at home before hitting this recent 7 game skid. While the back to back losses to the Mariners are somewhat unacceptable, the Padres five prior home losses came against the Tigers and Twins. Detroit and Minnesota are two of the hottest teams in the league so, while not inexcusable, the fact is that the Padres had simply run into two surging teams and they struggled.
King Creole
In terms of Baseball Over / Unders, King Creole 'lives by the UMP... and dies by the Ump'. Yesterday, we DIED by the Umpire going 0-2-1 in Over / Unders. Our silver lining is that so far this week, ALL baseball OU Plays are still 5-2-1 overall. We will officially pass on the Sunday... and live to fight another day based on this week's 5-2-1 record. But there is a game that was close to making our late-phone service, and here it is:
Play on: UNDER the TOTAL / Los Angeles Angels with LACKEY @ Los Angeles Dodgers with LOWE / 4:05pm ET
As a starting point, this jumped out at me for this afternoon
JOHN LACKEY is a PERFECT 0-6 O/U in his last 7 Interleague starts vs the DODGERS.... while DEREK LOWE is 1-7-1 O/U in his last 9 Interleague starts vs the ANGELS. That's a combined 1-13-1 O/U overall! And with both pitchers in pretty good recent form, we'll make a small wager on UNDER 7 runs. John Lackey has thrown EIGHT Quality Starts in row going into this afternoon's game. He's allowed 3 or less earned runs in ALL EIGHT starts... and ONE or less earned runs in SIX of those 8 starts. ERA is a microscopic 1.65 in the last two months. And he's 0-9-1 O/U In his last 10 starts!. Meanwhile, Derek Lowe has thrown Quality Starts in SIX of his last 7 game, with an ERA of only 2.57. ALL three of his last 3 starts have gone UNDER the Total.
Today's home plate Umpire is ADRIAN JOHNSON. He's 7-12 O/U in all games in the 2008 season... and 9-18 O/U in his last 27 games dating back to last year. In the 'what have you done for me LATELY" department, we note that he has gone a PERFECT 0-3 O/U in his last 3 games. And he's already umped for BOTH of today's teams this season. He's 0-1 O/U in ANGEL games in 2008.... and 0-1 O/U in DODGER games.

NY Yankees at NY Mets
3* Yankees-Mets to go 'OVER' the total of 9.5 runs
If emotional energy has anything to do with the outcome of a baseball game, then these two teams have got to be RUNNING ON EMPTY. First, they had to square off in a doubleheader on Friday: the Mets DESTROYED the Yanks in Game One, 15-6, before the Bronx Bombers fought back to claim the nightcap, 9-0. With yesterday's 3-2 Yankees victory coming after a tense pitching duel, we can clearly see the total runs scored heading straight downhill, from 21 to 9 to 5. In the final regular season meeting of these bitter rivals, I expect to see two EMOTIONALLY DEPLETED squads take the field and struggle to score runs. With that said, I think there's absolutely NO WAY the Mets and Yanks can combine for a double-digit run total here – so your play is on OVER THE TOTAL.

St Louis Cardinals vs. Kansas City Royals
Play: Kansas City Royals
The Battle of the Show Me state continues this afternoon in Kansas City as the Royals look to win their second series of the season from the Cardinals. The Cardinals took game 2 of the weekend series last night 5-1 and as they avoided losing four straight for the first time this season.
Brian Bannister will toe the rubber for the Royals this afternoon who despite last night's loss are still 4-1 against their cross state rivals this season. Bannister has been solid this season and has excelled at home. In Kauffman stadium the young right hander is 5-2 with a 2.48 ERA. The Royals are 6-3 in his home starts this year. He held the Redbirds to 9 hits and 2 earned runs in seven innings pitched of a 3-2 Royals win back on June 18th. He has yet to lose or be hit hard in two career starts against the Cardinals, going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in those outings.
The losing pitcher for the Cardinals back on June 18th was Braden Looper of the Cardinals. Looper had a solid outing in his first and only appearance against the Royals. He allowed just 5 hits and 1 earned run in 7 innings pitched of the 3-2 loss. Expect the Royals to have more success this afternoon in Looper's second appearance against them. In four day starts this year, Looper is 2-2 and has seen his ERA jump to 6.97. The Cardinals are just 1-5 in Looper's last 6 interleague starts.
Even with last night's loss the Royals are still 13-4 in interleague games this year. The Cardinals are just 7-14 this season as a road pup of +100 to +125. The Royals are 8-4 this season when playing on Sunday. Play on the Kansas City Royals for 1 unit.

Game: Arizona @ Florida
Pick: Under 8.0
Arizona has now gone 7 games in a row without going over the total. The 5 games between these 2 clubs this season have produced 4 that have gone under the total and 1 resulting in a push all while averaging a paltry 5.0 runs per game. The Arizona starter Dan Haren has been lights out in his last 5 starts posting a 1.59 ERA and a 0.76 WHIP. In 5 starts during the day this season Haren has posted a stellar 1.97 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. The Florida starter Scott Olsen has been solid in 10 home starts this season posting a very good 2.86 ERA. Olsen enters the game in very good form off of his last 4 starts posting a 2.61 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and nearly a 4:1 strikeout to walk ratio. The Marlins have scored just 13 runs in 5 games thus far on this homestand. Play under.
