WUNDERDOG

San Francisco at Chicago Cubs
Pick: Chicago Cubs -150

Ryan Dempster had a terrible outing four games back at the White Sox, but then helped the Cubs beat these Giants and followed that performance with a one-run gem vs. Harang and the Reds. On the season, Dempster has a 2.58 ERA at home to go with a perfect 10-0 record. Yes, Lincecum is making waves and owns an impressive 10-2 mark himself, but the point is that Dempster is pitching every bit as good. This game comes down to location and offense. The Cubs are 37-11 at home, scoring 6.4 runs per game. They hit a bit of an offensive slump a few weeks back, but they are hitting the ball well again. The Giants only score 4.1 per game and they are 10-25 in day games. Chicago is 13-2 this season as a home favorite and they a perfect 11-0 with Dempster on the hill. We'll back the Cubs here.

TOM FREESE

Los Angeles at Oakland

Oakland is 37-18-3 UNDER their last 58 games vs. a team with a road win percentage of over.600 and they are 8-3-1 UNDER in the last 12 starts made by Justin Duchscherer. The A's are 15-6-2 UNDER their last 23 games vs. righty starters. Los Angeles is 24-10-2 UNDER their last 36 road games and they are 20-6-2 UNDER vs. an opponent who scored 2 or less runs in their last game. The Angels are 15-6-2 UNDER their last 23 games as underdogs and they are 5-1 UNDER in the last 6 starts made by Joe Saunders. PLAY ON 'UNDER'

BLACK WIDOW SPORTS

1* on Washington Nationals -104

Odalis Perez has been brilliant as of late and stellar at home all season. Perez sports a 1.13 ERA over his last 3 starts and a miniscule 2.11 ERA in eight home starts this season. Those numbers make Washington a great play at home Sunday. Brandon Backe is 0-1 with a 6.60 ERA over his last 3 starts for Houston. Houston is 3-14 (-11.6 Units) against the money line after 2 straight games without a stolen base this season. Houston is 20-44 (-25.7 Units) against the money line vs. an NL starting pitcher whose ERA is 3.50 to 4.20 over the last 3 seasons. Washington is 11-2 (+9.2 Units) against the money line in home games vs. teams outscored by opponents by 0.5 or more runs/game in the second half of the season over the last 2 seasons. Take the Nats on the Money Line.

JORGE GONZALEZ

St Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Pick: Total: 9.5/-105 Over

1st half Total of the Year
St Louis/Pittsburgh over 9.5/-105

The Pirates have seen the total go over the total go 54-34-5 on the season. The Pirates beat the Cardinals in yestreday's action 12-11. I expect the hitting to continue into the rubber game of this series. Ian Snell(3-7, 5.84 ERA)has issued 22 walks in hius lat five games. The Cardinals are coming off clubbing 22 hits and will be happy to face Snell.

Sal Bansa

Florida Marlins vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

MLB SUNDAY SHOCKER

The Florida Marlins will meet the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium Sunday. The Marlins go with the lefthander Andrew Miller who has a 5-8 record and a 5.09 ERA this season. The Dodgers will go with Chad Billingsley and The Dodgers righthander has a 3.36 ERA and a 8-8 record this season. Oddsmakers currently have the Dodgers listed as favorites versus the Marlins today. The Marlins sneaked by the Dodgers scoring two runs in the top of the 11th inning on Saturday to beat the Dodgers 5-3. Jorge Cantu went 2-5 and a home run for the Fish. Yes, Florida won 4 straight games and the Dodgers lost 3 in a row. But, Florida stats on Sunday are 2-8 despite being 6-1 last 7 games on the road. LA Dodgers are 1-6 SU in their last 7 games when playing at home against Florida. But they make the Dodgers favored in todays game? PLAY > DODGERS
