Indian Cowboy

Reds -106 (POD)

Nearly always I prefer to do the POD in NBA as compared to baseball, but I don't like the NBA card too much but nearly took the Lakers on the road against the Clippers on a bounce-back. However, I will gladly take the Reds with their ace on the mound here at this price against Villa of the Brewers. The Brewers are a solid team and a great contact hitting team and they come off a pounding by the Reds last night. Having said that though, the Reds bats can explode especially against young pitchers, don't forget Villa gave up 8 hits in 5 inns and that was against the poor hitting Giants, opponents are batting .385 against Villa and Harang looks for his first win. I'll take the ace, with a solid offense looking for his first win today against a newbie that frankly was a bit fortunate against the Giants. Reds are 15-3 in Harang's last 18 road starts and Harang is 10-1 when the total is set at this range.

Giants/Cardinals Under 8.5

We have an early play and let's go ahead and tack on a late play on the under tonight at Candlestick. The Giants have scored 3, 4, 0, 4, 4, 2, 2 and 0 runs this year which just goes to show the lack of offense of this team and therefore the more they have to rely on their pitching. Heck, 2 of the Giants starters are on my fantasy team given their great WHIP, strikeouts and innings pitched. As per Correia, he is very similar to Jonathan Sanchez yesterday who was on a bounce-back and pitched great against the Padres and now look for Correia to have that same bounce-back after getting roughed up in his last start. Correia came on strong last yera and he is at home facing a very good Cardinals lineup, but I expect him to pitch very well tonight at Candlestick and of course, the Caridnals starting pitching will be there as it has this whole season with under a 1.50 ERA this year. Wainwright nearly pitched a complete game agianst Washington in his last start going 8 innings, I look for the under to hit here in a 3-2 type of ballgame in favor of St. Louis, however, I don't want to lay the juice and will gladly take the under here in what should be a pitcher's duel. Under is 6-0 in Correia's last 7 starts at home and the under is 7-2-1 when Wainwright pitches off of 4 days rest or more.
