The Pirates are off of an explosion as they scored 13 runs yesterday against the Mets and I think their offensive surge will continue tonight against Odalis Perez. Perez has met the Pirates eight times in his career and the total has sailed Over the total 5 out of 8 times. Perez has pitched better at home this year but he still has an overall WHIP of 1.53 and the Pirates should get ample opportunities tonight to score runs. On the hill for the Pirates is Zach Duke and he has started three times against the Nationals with all three games going Over the posted total. Duke struggles with his control at times and the Nationals should get chances to score as well tonight and I look for this one to climb Over the total.
NY Yankees - 1.07 (3 Unit Play)
The Yankees are reeling right now with the loss of A-Rod and Jorge Posada on the DL. However I think they are in a good spot tonight as they are facing a pitcher in Nate Robertson who they have had good success with over the years as Robertson is only 1-7 in his starts against the Yankees. The Tigers are only 4-6 in their past 10 games working with this umpire that is scheduled tonight as well while the Yankees are a very good money earning 9-1 with the same umpire. Ian Kennedy is throwing for the Yankees and he has been awful thus far this year but he has never met the Tigers in his young career. The Yankees are still the Yankees and the market may have overcorrected a bit in this one here tonight. Take the Yankees to avoid the sweep here at a very modest price.
NY Rangers +1.07 (3 Unit Play)
The Rangers are a proud hockey squad with a lot of veteran players on their squad and I can't see them getting swept out of the playoffs by these Penguins even though they have to be questioning themselves right now. They fell behind early last game and were continually in catchup mode and I believe they will get off to a fast start here tonight and take it to the Penguins whenever possible as they realize that they played well in Pittsburgh but just did not receive the breaks needed. Avery is out for the Rangers for the rest of the season but I think they will try to win one for him tonight. The Penguins have not lost in the playoffs and have tons of confidence but they lose tonight in my opinion.
