Now that we are a game into the series and they've felt each other out a bit I think the pace will pick up a bit tonight. The Detroit Pistons have been scoring a lot better in the playoffs than they did the other night and I expect them to get a little closer to their average tonight. I'm thinking like 94-86 Boston or so and see it coming in right around 180 which is quite a bit over the total set by the linesmakers for this one. Before the first game only 2 of Detroit's playoff games would have fallen below this number.

The last ten times the Washington Mystics have met up with the New York Liberty the games have gone over the total. For whatever reason when these two teams get together they just always seem to light it up and play high scoring games. While both teams have seen games go under so far in the young season, almost none of their past matchups would have gone under this number. This number is too low and it should go over.

Detroit applies to a solid 76-34-2 ATS bounce-back situation, but Boston should be favored by 5 ½ points in this game (after adjusting for the fact that the team off a loss generally plays better than normal) and the negative line value takes away some of the value from the situation. My predicted total is 169 points and all 4 games between Boston and Detroit this season have gone Under the total. I’ll lean with Detroit at +4 or +4 ½ points and consider the Pistons a Strong Opinion at +5 points (I’d make Detroit a 2-Star Best Bet at +5 ½ points).
I’ll also lean with the Under (172 ½) at 171 points or higher.
