Chicago White Sox/Kansas City Under 8 1/2 -1.12 (4 Unit Play)

This is a little bit heavy of juice to lay on the total but I like this game Under here today. These two teams have had two high scoring affairs but the Under looks to be the right side to me here tonight. Chicago will have Mark Buehrle on the hill and he is off a bad outing against Oakland but before that he was outstanding as he was 4-0 with a 1.15 ERA in his five outings prior to Oakland. Buehrle has also been very good against KC in his career as he is 16-6 with a 3.42 ERA when pitching against the Royals. The Royals will have Zack Greinke on the mound and he has been outstanding at home this year going 3-0 with a 2.57 ERA in six home starts. He has struggled a little bit with the White Sox in his career but he is more than capable of shutting them down and in fact the White Sox only had 5 hits last night so they really aren't hitting the ball particularly well. HP umpire Bill Hohn likes low scoring games as he has went Under 9 out of 12 times this year and he has also worked four games with Buehrle and three out of four games have went Under. Both teams have went Under with Hohn as Chicago is 3-6 their last nine while Kansas City is 4-5 Under in their last nine so I recommend taking the Under in this one tonight.

Cincinnati +1.60 (3 Unit Play)

One thing you will always get with my service plays is a lot of underdogs but they don't mean anything unless I win them. I like the Reds here today to salvage one game of their three game series with the Cubs. First off we have some history on our side as the Cubs have not swept the Reds at Wrigley Field in seven years. The Cubs will have Ted Lilly on the mound today and although he has been hot lately he is only 1-2 in his career against Cincinnati with a 4.09 ERA. The Reds will Bronson Arroyo on the mound and after suffering through just a horrible season he has turned it around lately as he has won his last two starts and only allowing two runs in 12 innings of those games. Arroyo has also pitched very well against Chicago in his career as although he is only 4-6 his ERA is 3.24. Both pitchers have worked with home plate umpire Jim Joyce and just to warn everyone the wind is blowing out today which probably will mean some runs today but I think the price is too high and will take a shot with the Reds here.

Minnesota/Detroit Under 9 +1.13 (3 Unit Play)

My last play today will be on this game Under the total. Minnesota will have Kevin Slowey on the hill and he has been red hot lately as he is 4-0 with a 2.06 ERA over his past five starts. Slowey has also went 2-0 in his career against the Tigers and has a 3.00 ERA. The Tigers will answer with Kenny Rogers who in his career against Minnesota has went 15-9 with his lowest ERA against any club at 2.98. Slowey knows coming into this game that he needs to have a good outing here as the Twins bullpen was shredded in Boston and the Tigers needed their bullpen last night as well so Rogers knows he needs to go deep today as well. This is a very important series in the AL Central as both teams are chasing the White Sox and we should have a good old fashioned pitchers duel today. I like the Under here today.

Alex Smart

LAA Angels vs. Texas Rangers

The LA Angels will send the ace of their staff John Lackey (6-2, 1.93 ERA) to the hill to stop the Texas Rangers offense. The veteran southpaw is off his first lackluster performance of the season, allowing 5 ERs in a tilt against the Blue Jays. Despite of that, he still looked very strong registering 7 strike outs. Lackey was 5-0 along with a minuscule 1.16 ERA previous to that. I expect he will bounce back in his last start before the all star game, continuing a stretch that has seen allow more than 3 ERs just once in a 11 game span. Lackey has been very strong on the road this season, as is evident by a 4-1 record along with a 1.40 ERA in five road starts in 2008, and also 3-0 with a 3.46 ERA in his last four starts against the Rangers. If he falters for any reason, he is backed with a bullpen that owns a tight 2.92 ERA. Meanwhile the Texas Rangers will return fire with their own capable hurler , Scott Feldman who is 2-0 along with a 3.18 ERA in his last four overall starts. The right hander is 1-0 with a 3.20 ERA in eight games, including six starts, at home in Arlington, where he has held opponents to a .227 batting average. He wons a very viable 2.89 ERA in nine relief appearances in his career against the Halos. He will face a Angels offense that averages just 4.2 RPG on the road this season, via a lowly .244 BA. Needless to say , we have the makings of what could easily be a pitchers duel. Thanks to this being a so called hitters park, the linesmakers have, attached a number that is just a bit high in my humble opinion, giving us the opportunity to take advantage of a positive situation. Final notes & Key Trends:Lackey has gone under in 9 of his 10 outings this season, with the average combined score of those tilts clicking in at 5.6 RPG. Lackey has seen 8 straight road starts against division opponents remain on the low side of the number, with the average combined score ringing in at 5.6 RPG. Actually 18 of his L/21 road starts have stayed under, with an average of 6.1 combined runs scored. Feldman the Rangers starter has had 11 of his 12 starts on a natural surface this season, stay under the number, with an average of 7.8 RPG scored. Play under

Stan Sharp

CLE (-110) vs TAM

Stan is Betting CLEVELAND today. Stan notes that Cleveland returns home to battle a Tampa Bay team that has lost 3 in a row on the road and is now 2-15 on the road in the month of July over the last 2 seasons. TAKE CLEVELAND as STAN'S AL FIRST HALF BIG BET OF THE YEAR and make them a TRIPLE DIME PLAY.

Matty O'Shea

TEX / ANA Under

Analysis: Two of the first three meetings here in Arlington have gone UNDER the total, and now we have the best pitching matchup of the series. Despite the OVER cashing in his last start, LA's John Lackey has still seen the UNDER go 8-1-1 in his 10 starts this season. Lackey has also been outstanding on the road this year, going 4-1 with a stellar 1.40 ERA. Meanwhile, Texas starter Scott Feldman has been very impressive in six home starts, going 1-0 with a 3.20 ERA. The UNDER is 10-2 in Feldman's last 12 starts overall, including six straight heading into this game. The UNDER is also an unbelievable 11-1 in his last 12 starts on grass. Look for a surprisingly low-scoring affair here between the Rangers and Angels, and bet the UNDER as my Double Dime AL Total Play O' the Week.

Vernon Croy

LAA Angels vs. Texas Rangers
Pick: Texas Rangers Play Title: 20 Unit MLB Bookie Buster

20 Units, Take Texas ML, We are getting solid value here tonight with the Rangers and this pick falls into one of my top MLB systems. Scott Feldman (3-3, 4.39 ERA) has pitched solid at home this season with an ERA of just 2.54 over 6 starts while allowing just 30 hits over 39 innings. John Lackey (6-2, 1.93 ERA) struggled in his last outing allowing 7 hits and 5 earned runs over 6 innings and Texas is hitting .298 as a team at home this season while averaging 6.0 rpg. Texas is also hitting .283 against right hand starters while averaging 5.8 rpg this season and Texas is a perfect 4-0 in Feldman's last 4 starts. Take the Rangers as my MLB Bookie Buster for Thursday night as my 8-2 MLB run continues
