St. Louis Cardinals -105 3-Units

The St. Louis Cardinals are 10-1 in Kyle Lohse's last 11 starts, while San Diego is only 9-27 in their last 36 games in St. Louis. We are getting great line value in this game that will feature two very solid starting pitchers. The Cardinals have won 5 straight home games that Lohse has started, and he has been nearly unbeatable over his last 3 starts. Over his last 3 games he has given up 2 earned runs over 21 innings of work, while maintaining a low 0.86 Era and a 1.05 Whip. He has also held opposing hitters to a .219 batting average on the season when pitching in St. Louis. Lohse will be opposed by San Diego's Jake Peavy. Peavy has pitched very well on the season, but his numbers have been mediocre when he has pitched away from pitcher friendly Petco Park. He has made it past the 5th inning only once in his last four road starts. Let's hope that the Cardinals bats continue to stay hot. They are hitting .389 and scoring 8.59 runs a game vs righties over their last 5 games, while San Diego is hitting .241 and scoring 4.84 runs a game over their last 5. Besides losing two games in a row, San Diego is tied with Colorado for the worst road record in the Majors. Now they get a very solid Lohse going against a Padres team that has scored 3 or less runs in 13 of their last 19 games. This is one of those games that may be decided in the later innings after both starters have exited. If that happens, I like my chances with a more powerful Cardinals lineup.

Take the St. Louis Cardinals -105 for 3-Units!
