Kyle Kendrick's starts haven't always been pretty, but he has turned a profit for the Phillies (+$650), leading them to victories in 14 of his 21 outings. With playoff hopes on the line, he should manage to overcome the hapless Nationals (-$2110), cellar dwellers in the NL East. The Philles have done their best work against lefthanders (23-15, +$635 with 5.7 runs per game),and as well as John Lannan has pitched this year, he's still deep in the red (-$615). The Angels are the best team in the American League and proved it with an impressive 3-game sweep at Boston this week. Look for the Angels to continue their momentum against an overrated Yankees' squad that is just 1-3 SU in their past four games. My pitcher performance ratings predict a solid bounce-back effort from Anaheim's Jon Garland who is due for a correction after struggling in his past three starts with a 8.59 ERA and 2.05 WHIP. Despite those ugly numbers, Garland is still a quality starter that started with the season with a solid 3.76 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in his first 18 games.
