Stan Sharp

OAK (+100) vs SEA

Stan notes that Seattle returns home from an 8 game road trip and faces Oakland lefty Greg Smith who has pitched very well in his last few starts. Also note Seattle is just 12-26 vs Lefties. TAKE OAKLAND as STAN'S BASEBALL UNDERDOG BIG BET OF THE WEEK and make them a DOUBLE DIME PLAY.

MICHAEL CANNON

San Francisco at CHICAGO -3'

A loser on the Braves last night drops my record to 22-18 with my last 40 overall free plays.

Take the over in tonight?s preseason game between the 49ers and Bears.

Typically Game 3 of the preseason is the game that the starters see the most action, and with defensive schemes at a minimum I feel like there will be some points scored tonight.

San Francisco has some real competition going at quarterback and with Mike Martz running the offense you?re going to see a lot of passes from all three so the coaching staff can get a better feel for who should open the season as the starter.

Chicago coach Lovie Smith has anointed Kyle Orton as his No. 1 man, so look for the Bears to gameplan a little offensively to get him some confidence.

The over has cashed five times in the Bears last six preseason games, and the over has hit in each of the last two meetings between these two in August.

Take the over as your free winner.

Green Bay at Denver
Pick: Green Bay +3

This will be a true dress rehersal for Aaron Rodgers as he should be take a lot of snaps. Rodgers looked sharp ealy in game one, but struggled last week. He should have the full forces of his offensive line here, which gave up very few sacks last year. Rodgers has gone down six times in two games thus far, but look for that to change here. One of the most underrated positions on the field is that of the center, and the Broncos will be without theirs in this one as Tom Nalen underwent knee surgery this week. The Denver running game has done nothing so far, and that will put a lot of pressure on the young Jay Cutler, who is susceptible to making bad decisions under pressure. The Packers gave up a lot of points last week, but mostly on big plays and a punt return. Teams that don't get in the end-zone in the preseason usually follow up with a strong performance the following week as the offense is motivated to atone for a terrible showing (yes, emotions and motivation come into play even in the preseason). Green Bay didn't show up last week and we expect that to motivate them this week. Combine that with the fact that this week will see the most signficant action from the starters from a team that went 13-3 last season, playing a 7-9 team, and we have a live dog in play.Get all of this week's picks will include our first 5-unit play of the preseason
here.

Balfe

NFL Preseason Football
49ers/Bears Under 17.5 (1st half line)
We are going to be betting the first half in all of week 3 action. Week 3 is the closest thing to a regular season game, but again be careful its only the preseason. Both teams have QB issues and now that the Bears named Orton the starter I think his performance will go down due to the pressure of the Bears Fans. Chicago has yet to do anything good offensively in the preseason and should run the ball like crazy and play good defense sending this UNDER the total for the FIRST HALF
