Cleveland at NY YANKEES -190

The G-Man is on a 14-8 comp play run my last 22, and today I will go with the Yankees on the RUN LINE, as they open their new stadium in the Bronx.

You have to expect CC Sabathia, and his mates to be a little extra-amped for this game, and with the Yankees coming off another road series win - this one at Tampa - New York does have some momentum as they take the field today against a Cleveland team that owns just 2 wins through the first 9 games of the year.

Sabathia looked like his old self in his last start, as he fired 8 scoreless at Kansas City in a win, while last year's Cy Young award winner Cliff Lee has looked more like Cy Old, losing both of his starts to date, while allowing 11 runs in just 10 innings of work.

G-Man is calling for Sabathia to work 6 or 7 scoreless frames, while the Yanks put up a big number around the 6th inning, breaking through against Lee and the Tribe in a 3-runs or more victory.

Take the Yankees on the RUN LINE.

Cleveland at NY YANKEES -200

Take the Yankees on the run line this afternoon over the Indians.

New York christens the new Yankee Stadium this afternoon and you know the place will be buzzing. Add to that the fact former Cleveland ace C. C. Sabathia is starting for the Yanks and that gives New York all it needs to deliver the runaway win here.

Cliff Lee will start for Cleveland and he bears little resemblance to the pitcher that went 22-3 last year. He’s 0-2 with a 9.90 ERA through his first two starts, spanning just 10 innings. If he starts out slow again this afternoon, it won’t take the Yankee bats long to pile up the runs.

The left-hander is 3-3 in seven career starts against the Yankees, but has a 5.63 ERA in that span.

Sabathia looked like the ace he’s expected to be for New York in his last start, when he pitched 7 2-3 shutout innings Saturday night in the Yankees’ 6-1 win over the Royals. The left-hander allowed only six singles and struck out six without walking a batter in the win.

Take the Yankees on the run line as they win going away in their new park.

Toronto at MINNESOTA +120

Our FREE play got postponed on Wednesday night as the Phillies and Nationals couldn't make a go of it, so remember that play still stands as long as the pitching matchup stays the same. We loved Philadelphia in that one. Our comp winner today is on the Twins as they play host to the Blue Jays.

Francisco Liriano is on the hill today for the Twins and we're going to back him at home in this one against the Blue Jays.

Liriano hasn't looked good in his first two starts this season but we all know this guy has great stuff and will eventually break out of the funk he's been in. Remember this guy's stuff is electric and we remember how he finished last season by allowing two runs or less in six of his last eight starts.

Roy Halladay is on the mound for Toronto and he was roughed up in his first start of the year but looked more like himself in his second start. He gave up five runs on six hits to the Tigers to open the season and the Twins will get to him today.

Toronto won Wednesday's matchup 12-2 and tonight the Twins will fight to redeem themselves. The key here is the Twins need Liriano to be great or they are really going to suffer this season. He knows he needs to be great and tonight he'll show some of the greatness he's shown the last two years. Play Minnesota.

2♦ MINNESOTA

Chicago Cubs -110

One of the biggest rivalries in Major League Baseball starts this afternoon with the St. Louis Cardinals visiting the Chicago Cubs. The general consensus is that the rivalry has been pretty even, but lately the numbers do not agree with that assessment. The Cubs are actually 20-11 against the Cards over the past 3 seasons, and the way the teams are shaping up for 2009, I think they will only improve on that record. Adam Wainwright will start for St. Louis, and while he's off to a solid start this year, he's always struggled against the Cubs. In six career starts against Chicago, Wainwright is 1-3 with a 6.55 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. He's only pitched twice in his career at Wrigley, and surprisingly has a win and a no decision to show for it, but he has given up 9 runs and 16 hits in 10 1/3 innings at Chicago. I also like the fact that the Cubbies send Sean Marshall to the mound, not so much because Marshall is a dominant pitcher, but he is a solid lefty, and this St. Louis team does not hit the southpaws very well. The Cards have faced lefties 5 times already this season, and are hitting just .239 against them and averaging 3.6 runs per game, compare that to their overall team hitting, which sits at a .293 team average and 5.1 runs per game, and you can see that they clearly do not hit left-handers well. I also give the Cubs a clear advantage over the Cards in terms of bullpen consistency, yet another reason to ride Chicago Thursday.

Toronto Blue Jays at Minnesota Twins

It looks like the public cannot get enough of Roy Halladay tonight on the road as the number is climbing for him and we totally agree. Halladay has an 8-1 TSR in his career against the Minnesota Twins with a 2.71 ERA to boot. The battle of dome teams have been dominated by the Blue Jays as they have won 13 of the last 18 games. Twins starter Francisco Liriano has no starts against the Jays, but has not been very good this year with an 0-2 TSR and a 6.94 ERA.

Play on: Toronto

Cleveland Indians @ New York Yankees
Pick: New York Yankees RL -1,5

This afternoon will begin a new series comprised of 4 games with the teams of the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Yankees. In this game both teams start with their 'Aces, "the Cleveland Indians will be part of Lee to start the match while the NY Yankees will start with his new pitcher CC Sabathia.

This game's main attraction to the inauguration of the new stage of Yankees games on the official MLB (New Yankee Stadium). The opening ceremony of the New Yankee Stadium took place in the past days on April 4 in a game against the Chicago Cubs. This is a day of celebration for the team to the Yankees and all their supporters.

The New York Yankees take on as one of the main candidates for the title of the MLB. The Yankees began the season not the best way forward with two consecutive losses to Baltimore Oriols, but quickly recovered those losses and now already have a good record of 5-4 and all games were made with the status of visitors. Tonight the Yankees will start the game with his new pitcher and the "Ace" of the team, CC Sabathia that has a fantastic career record of 118-74 with 3:36 ERA and is one of the best of the entire league Pitchers MLB. With Sabathia and powerful command to attack in good form, the Yankees become a very dangerous team and capable of beating any team.

The Cleveland Indians had a bad start of season with 5 consecutive losses and now have a record of 2-7 and 6 of these games at home, which shows the bad time that this team is. The Indians will start the game with his "Ace" Cliff Lee did in that last season an impressive record of 22-3 with 2:54 ERA is one of the main highlights of the league, however, this season started in the worst way and left defeated in the 2 games that started with ERA of 9.90. "

This is a very special game for the team and the Yankees surely will be a historic moment because this is the debut of the new stadium the Yankees in MLB. Apart from this fact alone is a good reason to motivate the entire team of the Yankees, the superiority is also quite large compared to the Cleveland Indians team that showed to be in bad shape this season while starting up we can not forget that Lee was just a fantastic season in 2008. This game will be a big party for the team and the Yankees could only finish with a victory for the home team in the opening game of their new stadium.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals
Play: Washington Nationals

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Washington as they host Philadelphia. No team can lose them all can they? Of course not. Supporting this graded play is a strong system that has posted a 100-46 making 43.4 units since 2003. Play on home teams where team's hitters draw 4 walks or more/game on the season facing opponent averaging 3.5 or more extra base hits per game on the season. Here is a second system that has gone 40-22 making 25.3 units since 2003. Play against NL road favorites with a money line of -110 or higher allowing 4.8 or more runs/game on the season against opponent that is a horrible team being outscored by opponents by 1 or more runs/game on the season. Nationals starter Martis does have a significant advantage in that the Phillies have never faced him. He pitched 3 innings of relief late last season against them and many of the Phillies he faced are not with other teams. As I have said so many times in my 15-year career facing a pitcher is far different than studying video and scouting reports. He has a lively FB that he throws 71% of the time to begin an AB. Much like Col Hamels, he will throw changes 17% early in the count. His out pitch is actually TWO (slider and change) and that makes him even more difficult to hit. Take the Nationals.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals
Play: Philadelphia Phillies

Washington remains winless on the season at 0-7 this year. Philadelphia is scoring 6.7 runs per game on the road this year. Washington bullpen has been lousy with a 5.93 ERA overall and an 11.25 ERA at home this season. Philadelphia is 25-12 overall vs Washington the past 3 years. Phillies are 4-0 in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Phillies are 6-1 in their last 7 games as a road favorite. Phillies are 10-2 in their last 12 road games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. Phillies are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a road favorite of -110 to -150. Phillies are 4-1 in their last 5 when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game. Phillies are 8-0 in Blantons last 8 starts on grass. Nationals are 11-45 in their last 56 games following a loss. Nationals are 3-13 in their last 16 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. Nationals are 3-14 in their last 17 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Nationals are 1-6 in their last 7 games as a home underdog. Nationals are 1-7 in their last 8 home games. We'll recommend a small play on Philadelphia tonight!

1 Unit on Philadelphia Phillies -134

Washington is off to a horrible start and it certainly doesn't have the fire power at the plate or the arms to compete with the reigning champs. Philly is 13-6 at Washington over the last 3 seasons and 25-12 in all meetings with the Nats the last 3 seasons. Blanton struggled in his first start, but he is a quality pitcher and I fully expect him to bounce back strong tonight. In fact, the Phillies are 8-0 in Blanton's last 8 starts, and a perfect 5-0 in Blanton's last 5 starts with 7 or more days of rest. The Nationals are now 11-45 in their last 56 games following a loss while the Phillies are 20-6 in their last 26 games following a win. All Phillies tonight.
