Timlin, Red Sox reportedly agree to terms
December 1st, 2007

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox have reportedly reached contract terms with relief pitcher Mike Timlin.

The Boston Globe detailed the agreement that brings the veteran right-hander back for an 18th big league season, his sixth with the Red Sox, just hours before the midnight deadline for teams to offer salary arbitration to their free agents.

The newspaper reported the contract to be around $3 million, a $300,000 raise from his 2007 salary.

Timlin appeared in 50 games for the World Series champions in 2007, compiling a 2-1 record and 3.42 earned run average. For his career, the 41-year-old veteran sports a 71-69 mark and a 3.55 earned run average with 140 saves.
