Top-Ten Power Ratings
by: Brad Diamond Sports

1. Boston Red Sox...Top to bottom, overall, the best pitching staff in the American League. If Ortiz comes around during the dog days, Boston could gain distance in the AL East.

2. LA Dodgers...The best talent in the National League buoyed by a solid staff with an aggressive, hard throwing pen. Oh, here comes Manny Roid!

3. Detroit...After last year, the Tigers are my surprise team in the AL. Their pitching group is talented and developing (Porcello) and just need to find good at bats in the 6th, 7th and 8th slots. In a short series, Detroit seems unstoppable.

4. LA Angels...The other LA entity is coming, despite the hiccup against their hated rival this past weekend. If the injured staff comes around, look out in August and September.

5. St. Louis...The Cardinals pitching staff and Albert Pujolis (10 RBIs vs. KC) are carrying this ascent in the Central.

6. NY Yankees...Major talent edges at given positions, but C. C. Sabathia must learn to win the big games. His meltdown in Philly last post season is duly noted.

7. Colorado...Holy Rockies! Winners of six straight and 17 of 18, can the Mile High Guys be stopped with their three man key rotation?

8. Tampa Bay...The Rays look ready to make an encore run, but will need to discard the current World Champions over the next few days, to prove their worth.

9. SF Giants...San Francisco continues to win series after series at home, but now they go on the road in Inter-League action. LOL

10. Phillies...Almost dead, but not out. With a horrific staff, injured personnel, the current form of Philadelphia seems to be the norm for a World Champion realizing every one wants to knock your head-off.
