1 Unit on Reds/Dodgers OVER 8.5

The Reds and Dodgers will combine for double-digit runs once again tonight. This Run Total has been set far too low and we will capitalize on it with today’s free play. The Over is 8-0 in Matt Belisle’s last 8 starts vs. National League West. The Over is 5-1 in Belisle’s last 6 road starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5. The Over is 9-2 in Dodgers last 11 home games with the total set at 7.0-8.5. The Over is 12-3 in Dodgers last 15 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5. The odds makers are making a big mistake by setting this run total lower than 9 runs tonight. The Reds and Dodgers don’t have any problems scoring runs this season. Cash in with the OVER 8.5 runs.

25 Dime

CELTICS

Take the Celtics minus the points tonight when they host the Pistons in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Boston defeated Cleveland in Game 7 on Sunday, while Detroit has been off for a week.

I think that’s going to work to the Celtics benefit tonight.

Boston has a chance to come into this game in a rhythm, while it probably will take the Pistons this game to get back into the flow.

On top of that, Chauncey Billups has missed the last two games for the Pistons which puts him behind even further.

Boston is going to have its hands full, there’s no question about that. Detroit brings a balanced scoring attack that Boston has yet to see in these playoffs. But I think the Pistons will need to get a game under their belts before they’re back into the swing of things.

The Celtics haven’t been kind to their backers lately, but they are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 at the Garden and 6-0 ATS in their last six at home against teams with a winning road record.

Further evidence that the Pistons will need a game before they get going can be found in the 0-6 ATS mark they have after three or more days off.

Take the Celtics minus the points as they grab the win and cover.

10 Dime

INDIANS (With Sabathia as listed pitcher)

Take the Indians for the road win tonight over the White Sox.

C. C. Sabathia will get the start for the Tribe and he comes into this game finally having hit his stride after a slow start.

The left-hander is 3-2 with a 1.49 ERA in his last five starts. He has won back-to-back starts for the first time this season. During that span he has limited the opposition to one run and 11 hits over 16 innings.

What’s more, Sabathia has dominate the ChiSox in his career, going 14-3 with a 3.66 ERA in 24 games. Those numbers include a perfect 7-0 record and 2.69 ERA in 11 road starts.

Jose Contreras will start for the White Sox and you never know what you’re going to get from him from start to start. Sometimes he shows his real age, which is probably somewhere close to 50, other times he looks young and spry.

Take the Tribe as they grab the road win behind Sabathia.

5 Dime

PIRATES (With Maholm as listed pitcher)

Take the Pirates for the home win over the Brewers.

Milwaukee has struggled this year, especially on the road, where they’ve been swept in three consecutive series. Overall the Brewers have lost five in a row and are just 5-12 in May.

The Pirates have showed some signs of improvement this year. The Bucs are 12-8 at PNC Park and have won seven of their last eight there.

The Brewers are just 5-12 over the last two seasons combined at PNC.

Take the Pirates as they grab the home win.

Bob Balfe

NBA Basketball
Detroit/Boston Over 174
This total is set very low. In the last five meetings between both clubs the total has gone under, but the line was set much higher. Boston has a different guy step up every night and if you double team him someone else will step it up. The Pistons have the most playoff experience and should get Billips back tonight. I don't think we will see 200 points in this game, but the total will creep over in the closing minutes. Take the Over.

Ross Benjamin

Detroit @ Boston

Play On: Boston -4.5 (15*)

The consensus from a lot of the experts and the general public is Detroit is the side in this series. That very well might be however if there is a game the Pistons will be flat it will be this one especially early in the game as a result of entering the game having not played in 7 days. Detroit is 0-6 SU and ATS this season as an away underdog of 5.0 or less and has lost by an average of 14.2 points per game. The Celtics are 5-0 SU and ATS this season as a home favorite of 10.0 or less coming off a home favorite ATS loss winning by an average of 16.6 points per game.

Any conference playoff home favorite that is off a playoff SU win by 9 points or less in which they allowed 109 points or less, has won 33 home games or more this season, versus an opponent off BB playoff SU wins, and the last of which they allowed 80 or more points is 17-2-1 ATS since 1990. Play on the Boston Celtics minus the points as a 15* Top Play selection.

Milwaukee (Parra) @ Pittsburgh (Maholm) 7:05 PM ET

Play On: Pittsburgh -115 (15*)

This is one of the rare occasions I will use a side with their starting pitcher in bad form. However in spite of his recent starts Paul Maholm has pitched very well at home. Maholm is 4-0 in his team starts at home this season with a stellar 2.05 ERA. The Pirates are 7-1 in their last 8 at home. The Brewers starting pitcher Parra has posted an awful 8.25 ERA in 3 road starts this season. The Brewers are hitting just .211 as a team on the road this season versus left-handed pitching and a paltry .141 in the last 10 games overall versus southpaws. Milwaukee enters the game having lost their last 5 in a row, 10 of the last 11 on the road, and 42 of the last 59 as a road underdog. Play on the Pittsburgh Pirates as a 15* Top Play selection.
